The point is that Diamond was MOTM last time out but then never had another sniff. Youngsters could be MOTM and score a hattrick in the nonsense cup and they still won't be given a chance in the league. Parkinson promised a pathway for youngsters but Im afraid he was lying. There is a reason why Checkatrade matches arent counted as real appearances. The reason why people are annoyed is we've lost a boatload of talent and the club has said one plan to avoid this in the future is to offer a 'pathway to the first team'. The fact that PP has no intention of following through on this will mean more talent leaving.
Its ridiculous like. Dobson is only a year older than embleton but hes a senior player cos hes played a canny few games for his age. Like captaining walsall to relegation to leagur 2.

Tbh I think this is a fair criticism of Parkinson but slightly overplayed by some. I think at least 2 of them should be in the match day squad every week and i would like to see one of Neil or Embleton start in a game like today. If they play today and do well then Parkinson will feel more confident on relying them if there are injuries or lack of form amongst the current team. However the 'fury' at it is a bit OTT  and certainly those that think they should be playing every week need their heads examining.

Ideal opportunity to blood all of the young lads. This f***ing prick mouthed the words, pathway to the first team, he is beyond a f***ing joke

He got injured about 3 games into the season man
So? Did he even get a minute of game time bar that nothing Villa game? Is what I said incorrect?

Is it not an ideal opportunity to get the front two scoring goals and getting a bit of confidence ?.

My main problem is that the club came out and acknowledged that we could have done better to keep the talent we have lost and said clearly that their strategy to reverse that trend would be offering this 'pathway'. My thoughts were - 'great, at last, the club is trying to do something positive'. Since then they have done pretty much the opposite. Parkinson has said in the press one thing and done the opposite. Its clear we do have some young talent but we will lose it as long as Parkinson is here. Its really a separate issue - one issue is to get promoted. The long term issue is to keep the talent that we have taken years to develop. There is simply no argument to play Dobson in front of Neil or Embleton.

If Parko is true to form neither Embo or Neil will come off the bench. I maybe in danger becoming a bit of a moaner but I was very encouraged when the club and Parkinson said they would provide the pathway to the first team as an effort to reverse the trend of talent leaving the club. The fact that PP has shown he really has no intention of doing this is pretty demoralising. Promotion is absolutely paramount this season but our loss of young talent will affect us for many years to come and I would imagine as long as Parkinson is here that trend will continue. Neil may or may not have a lot to learn but what is not in doubt is that Dobson and Power offer very, very little.
I think we will see Embo today and maybe, even, Neil. Broadly, the better young players should be getting onto the bench regularly, at the least. It's hard to see what the spare strikers bring to the party and, by now, I'd sooner see Neil on the bench over Dobson.

Why are people raging for? the bench warmers were always going to play this, then the young uns warm the bench. A good experience for the young lads and hopefully they get some minutes today. If not it'll be first team action for them against Fleetwood on Tuesday.

Chill out people.
Good experience sitting on a bench in an empty stadium! Might as well be sitting in Mowbray Park watching the ducks.

Anyone else unable to get the match on SAFSee - every time i login it asks me to buy another pass

EDIT: Sussed it, FA cup games not included

Sanderson is 20 and he's come in.

Not really sure it's the same thing. He's been signed on loan to be part of the first team.

When he said leaving McGeady out was a pathway for the youth, I didn't realise it mean he's happy to sign kids on loan but won't put any trust in players from our academy.
