In the 1st half Donny won all the 2nd balls. Our midfield was rubbish.

Power improved 2nd half but our cutting edge was missing. Thought Maguire was poor - his delivery from free kicks and corners has to be better too and Gooch was a bit McGeady'ish -- holding onto the ball too long and trying to do it himself.

I did think we played pretty well 2nd half and Doncaster did very well defensively to hold out.

Doncaster came and did a job on us, got there tatics spot one, we didn't have the craft or guile to break them down. The other worry was every chance Doncaster had came from a poor pass or defensive brain fart. Other than the deflected ball to Watmore right end the end of the game there defense didn't look like making a mistake.

Any thoughts on Ben Whiteman? Derby have been linked with him and after watching us struggling for 90 mins against Northampton Town tonight its clear we need someone to come in and shake things up.

Thought we might switch to 352 with Gooch off the front and Wyke up top with Lafferty. Just see if it confused them a bit more with two guys up top to deal with.

Tidy on the ball along with his central midfield partner. They were better than Power and Dobson tonight.

Wyke and Dobson are two massive weak links for us still. Kill all forward play and aren’t good enough at their respective roles so desperate for both to be replaced ASAP

Fair comment but no mention of what we got wrong. Up against a canny little side so the gaffer heads straight back into his shell for the first 45 minutes. After our spell of pressing sides he reverted to type and had us sat back looking to catch them on the break, back to his hoofball, which is both cowardly and moronic given our so called target man is absolutely gash. Isolating him, leaving him without support, makes him look even worse than he is and that's some feat. We're up against nowt week after week man, if you're brave enough to pressure the players in this division they'll gift you goals.

We need to sign Docherty like. Watching that tonight couldn't help but think he's exactly what we miss in midfield. Creativity, gets up and down and scores. Dobson and Power are too one dimensional imo. We need something a bit different in there.

I think you need a reality check. We are a decent div 1 side and drew with another one in a poor performance.
Reality? A third division team who have been absolute shit for a long time save a handful of performances, a rudderless club with two abysmal academy teams, I’ll not go on, that’s reality !

They were much better than our midfielders last night.
The Donny No.10, though on the short side, had a cracking game last night.
He was always looking to make things happen, got in our faces, got stuck in, and kept the ball moving well.
Very mobile, and very industrious, he bossed the midfield last night.

We didn't have anything to break them down. We could be playing them still and not score.

Are you the least bit surprised at that?

Unlike ours. And not just the defense.
Got a point from a terrible performance. Better than nowt

In a very precarious position though. A win would have put us level with Coventry City, a point from Ipswich Town and three from the top two teams.

Now everyone down to Burton Albion in 9th can catch us and overtake us if they all win. Fortunately only two of those are playing and that is Peterborough United and Burton Albion. Ipswich can extend it to six points if they beat Lincoln City.

So of today's five games really we only are looking at Peterborough and Rotherham United who they are playing who are leading and frankly cannot be caught - not by us - need I think a draw an for Ipswich Town to lose to Lincoln City and for Accrington to beat Burton.

Didnt stand out tbh. Whereas Taylor their wingerish lad was the best player on the pitch by a country mile.

Taylor. agreed, he was very good. Bit of shithousery hoyed in anarl, I like him a lot. Sort of player we should be looking at. Indeed any championship club would be strengthened with him in their squad if tonight’s performance is owt to go by.
Watched Wyke play for 2 years at Carlisle and for a man of his size he’s weak as piss with little presence up front. Can’t stand it when a big man like him doesn’t impose himself on centre-half’s and put himself about. He’s stiff as a board.
Aye. Hard to believe he’s performing the same role in a football team that the likes of HarFord,Drunken Duncan, Whitehurst, Latchford, Hughes, Gray, Quinn etc used to. You would’ve had to have hit some of those lads with a scaffold pole to get them onto the floor.
