Those photos from the article are canny as well. In the second one Bobby Gurney appears to be ghosting in due to the camera exposure.

Bump…since this has appeared on Twitter…on this day in Sunderland’s history.

Don’t suppose anyone ever managed to find a way of getting reproduction prints of the poster?
Get your own printer out ;) I've had a quick piss about for a short while and tried to square off the original image and fannied on with colours/contrast but it just got messy so this is what I was left with.

I also found the game on Stat Cat here:

Does anyone know anywhere which does produce prints of this? I found a post from twitter back in 2015 but no joy finding the link anymore

I've got this print in black and white. A friend gave me it (she worked in the catalan museum of history iirc).

I looked at a history of Catalan results and these games against Sunderland aren't on the list.

In Belfast several years ago and came across a mural of Patrick O’Connell one of the locals told me his story took a long time but I found it fascinating .Started of his playing career at Belfast Celtic and moved over to England where he became the first Irishman to play for Man U.Started off as a manager at Ashington 1921 their first season third division North moved to Spain to manage couple clubs and then took over real Bettis where they won the first and only league title .he then moved on to Barcelona just as Civil War started.
He organised a tour of America to try and keep the club in existenceI’ve saw the list of teams that they played in America remember thinking all had some Irish connection in the name then went on to play in Mexico who firmly in favour of the Catalonians .The money raised in this tour keep Barcelona viableand I think there is a bust of Patrick somewhere in the Barcelona ground
