remember that little shop just outside Mowbray Park that sold the little fishing nets ? and then into the park trying to catch fish in the pond. and the big lads used to jump onto the little island in the middle of the pond.. early 90's I'm talking.

Remember that aye, also the Underground toilets outside Mowbray park, roughly where the revolving door entrance to Winter Gardens is now.

is that what it was ? did it have a fish or some kind of aquatic theme painted on the outside of it or summit ? which side of the park was it ? Yates' side ? opposite the current museum entrance ?
The pet shop was there for years not sure when it closed round from Yates(they expanded into several old shops). There was also a little newsagents they may have had nets being close to the park

Just casting my mind back this morning thinking of people, places and times gone by.

Looking at a cracking pic of The Londonderry from at least 1900 on FB and some daft lass put "would have loved to have lived then our towns ruined"..

In the 70s this will have been the dogs bollocks compared to the rat infested Green terrace and parts of the East end we were going to the Moon and putting hardboard on the panel doors, everyone was looking forward.Roll on 2013 and its "what the fk did they do that for?"[DOUBLEPOST=1388418434][/DOUBLEPOST]
