Well there’s only so many aluminium profiles. Have you seen Brent Cross station? Only cost ten times more than Sunderland station.
The new Brent Cross station also involved moving tracks, building stairs, lifts, esculators, platforms, all while working next to a very frequent railway which couldn't be closed easily. It's a very different beast and I'd expect it to cost much more aswell. Really not comparable.
