Sunderland music thread

Great stuff it sounds like a cracking venue.

I enjoyed Friday and Sunday (thanks) celebrating my birthday and it always helps when Sunderland win!
Yeah had a lovely day yesterday, all morning with the family, then the match with my bro and then of course the gig.

I'm feeling a bit ropey now like, still in bed

lead singer Webbsy ? The guitarist who looked like a cross between jeff beck/Johnny Marr moved down to the Devon/ Cornwall area years ago.
Would love a reunion gig . Memories of some great bank holiday one's chocka block in the Borough,Luma the long bar thats now Paddy Power now and the Ropery .
He was canny shit him like, at the start of his time with them anyway. I remember what must have been about 10 false starts trying to master the intro to Peacock Suit :)

f***ing loved that band. Seemed to be in their pomp when I was about 19/20 and just starting to go to gigs, off his rocker the lead singer but a cracking bloke all the same. I remember a cracking day (Bank Holiday I think) where they and small weller (now small wonder) both played Luma, I was absolutely chemist by the end.

Just remembered another time but can't remember where (possibly paddwacks?) where they actually turned his mic off because they did too many encore songs, he was absolutely seething

Cracking day if you like punk music in the city centre today

Doors open from midday at the Peacock where 1977 are on and the Live Lounge opens from 17.00 where Stiff Little Fingers tribute band Rigid are playing.
