The two cities are very similar.

Similar size, by the sea, stranded miles from the capital. Friendly people with a rough edge to them who love a drink.
Both brewery towns. Ours has gone, Estrella Galicia which I believe you can now get in Spoons is from Coruña and is everywhere, they dominate the beer world in that part of Spain and are getting bigger everywhere very quickly.

Two of my favourite places in the world and I cant get to either of them at the moment.
And of course most important of all, both football teams are stranded at the 3rd level and neither look like getting out of it anytime soon.

Theyre 5th ferchrissakes! Below Vigo B! There’ll be some board invading going on over there.
I dunno what this seasons weird format is about but i know everyone goes through to the next stage just at different levels. Then onto another stage. How you then do determines what level you’re at next season......I think. Though I don’t know how that’s gonna look either.
There’s a hundred teams in this format at the moment. Are the Spanish authorities looking to add another non regional tier underneath Segunda?
Im gonna dig around for a vaguely lucid explanation of the format in English. Though I’ve heard it’s complicated enuff for Spanish football obsessives to understand even when read in Spanish.

Bloody hell they've nosedived since Christmas, they were unbeaten before then looking good to bounce back.

Since then they've lost 4 and drawn 2. Full on implosion, midtable and 8 points off top with just 5 games left! They are knackered IMO.

Ive tried to understand it a bit more - top 4 go into some convoluted play offs to go up - 5th and 6th - into some other league - 7th onwards go into relegation play offs
their form is so bad -not scored in 500 odd minutes theyre worried now about joining the relegation play offs to a regional fourth tier of clubs from 100-120th position downwards . There is a new tier being formed for next season, but basically if they dont win their last 5 games theyre going nowhere but downwards

The club is being run by the local bank that bailed them out, they sacked the current board this week and have installed complete outsiders, huge shit show, club could easily go under, what with Covid and no 30000 crowds, sounds similar

Never heard of him
Manages Valladoloid now iirc.
Played for Depor for about ten years. Very good player. Helped rip Arsenal a new one to the extent that all the Arsenal boys in my then local arrived back in shock. I remember one saying “that’s the football I want to watch every week”.
They probably were the best team in the world for a spell when all fit. Unfortunately once you got past their first 14 or 15 their players were more Danny Collins than Dani Alves so over the course of a season they nivver won as much as they possibly could.
Played Real in La Bernabeau in the 100th ever Spanish Cup Final. Its ko date was moved iirc to coincide with Reals 100th anniversary of forming anarl by their FA. The whole thing was set up all season to be a celebration of Reals standing in world football and Spanish society.
Unfortunately for the Real players every Depor player was fit and available, Roy Makaay only made the bench. Tristan who kept him out had been signed by Real from Majorca because Inter wadnt sell them Ronaldo. Once Tristans signing was announced Inter got back on the phone and a deal was done in minutes. Poor Tristan was bundled out of the back door to Depor ASAP. Apparently he was nivver the same again mentally. Still one of the 20 best players I’ve ever seen and he seemed to save it up for Real especially.
Real nivver touched the ball. They were lucky to get nil. 2-0 long before half time. It was over and done with with the second goal. The great and the good of Spanish society squirmed awkwardly in their seats for the next couple of hours as sport itself won ower there for once.
My marras Mrs is from ower there. Her uncle runs a bar that’s the local supporters club hq (pena) and Sergios his favourite player. There’s a bus runs to every home game from it. Apparently it’s a lot smaller these days. They’ve two videos behind the bar. Ones that cup Final the others v Arsenal cos my marras a gooner. He has to sit through both every time he gains ower. Wears his gooner shirt every time. We keep saying well gan ower together for a long weekend.
Twas between seasons when I went so I’ve nivver seen them at home. Carry on like this and we may watch em in a park if we do go.
Anyway dinners ready so I’ll stop.

Aye Sergio was good, bit Gerrardesque bossed midfield with a bit of style.

Fran, Mauro Silva, Bebeto and Valeron were my favourites.

Fran was class, drifting in from the wing
Mauro Silva a rock in midfield. Didnt move far, didnt need to. Why Brazil won the world cup in 94 along with Bebeto, tiny feet, great eye for goal and Romario.

Valeron the most elegant midfielder you can ever imagine played when they came back from 3 down against a top AC Milan in the Champions in 2001, they should have won it that year lost to Mourinhos Porto in the semis. He coaches the kids now and Fran is back, hoping their magic rubs off. It isnt up to now.

Always remember Bebeto being their star man in the early 90s when they were rivals from the league with Romarios Barcelona

The Segunda Division B (third tier) is the most brutal level of football ever as well.

Almost every single game finishes 0-0 or 1-0, the standard is dreadful, teams find it almost impossible to get promoted with the convoluted play-off/group format.
