I’d defo say it was a success for him, got him a loan out to senior football, a nationally televised fa cup game against spurs, and a senior contract in pro football at the end of it.

Can Anderson, Hemir etc not feature for the U21s in friendlies?

Well Hemir and Ba could play for the u21s whenever we want as they are under 21.

And I’d imagine in a friendly against senior sides we could play whoever we want and they wouldn’t mind.

I think it’s fair to say now, we won’t see any of the senior lads who played against Gateshead bar Blondie play for Sunderland again, possibly Joe Anderson to help him stay fit as he is really liked by the club.

Depends what 2nd half team is

U18 are supposed to be playing at 12pm against Bradford U18 on one of the other pitched

I'd guess we want the U21s to prep for the season and they won't be in that team. But I'd be pleasantly surprised if that list are talking to other clubs. Given the injuries in defence I'd expect Anderson to be with the first team squad though I'm happy to be corrected.
