Bugs the life out of me how scouts ( looking at our players get preference over fans who support the players for team sheets -been like that so long I never even ask for one now .

Defending was awful from both sides -especially us-we were much better again second half

At 1 nil down we had a great spell and had them on back foot with some good passing especially down our left -then two really poor goals defensively effectively killled the game off
One thing of note -no vocal leaders on the pitch ? -could hear two or three Boro lads all night but we were quiet and it’s something I’ve noticed at Hetton before for us .Not sure how you get players to be more like that if it’s not natural mind .

A lot of experience between those 3 players, will definitely have given them an advantage.
Hoppe cost Boro about €5M or something didn’t he?
Bola has played about 150 games at L1 and Championship level and Roberts was Northamptons Player of the Season last year.

I believe the under 18s have a cup game a week Thursday at Hetton v Fulham ( the 18s we’re top of the league and flying )

I did notice first half as you mentioned how quiet our team is, no one on the pitch organising or encouraging. Be interesting to see some more games to see if that's a common theme.
Just been watching it on twitter, it may be quiet on the pitch but both managers are very vocal

Not sure how you rectify that -maybe identify one or two players with obv leadership qualities and bring them in
Zac Johnson our injured Centre half is in that mould -but definitely need another couple in
Thing is, it's ok the managers being vocal, but the players need to be doing a lot more themselves in that respect, giving encouragement, bollockings or generally organising things alongside the managers instructions imo

You any confirmed details Re the under 18s playing at Hetton week Thursday marra ? I was told last night and canny few said they would like to watch them as they have been “ flying “ in the league -smashing the Ike’s of Liverpool away ?
Would be great if they got decent support as most games are at the aol
