Sunderland AFC U18s


Strong midfield with Jones, Whittaker & Neild in there. Good to see Struk on the bench getting back to fitness after his op too.
 
Think u16s got beat 2-1 I think. Last kick consolation penalty but boro could have won by 4 or 5 from what I saw. Sunderland looked very young / small team, particularly in midfield, with boro literally head and shoulders above them. Some tidy footballers though if they are a year or two younger

Whittaker was very advanced much of the time, similar to Rigg in first team. First time I’ve really seen Finn - impressed, very mobile for a big lad highlighted by him going wide right last half hour.

Cheers for posting that, Boro looked decent but fell apart in front of goal. Geragusian defo stands out in attack for us and one of the CBs (think it’s Kindon) looked solid.

No bother . Taking the chances this year and conceding way less making a difference . The young lads blooded at 18s when they were 16 have all hit the ground running and the handful of second Years are a good mix . Early days but a promising start and more importantly playing exciting and technical style

Finished 2-2. 16s are a small team on the whole, Saturday’s team was 16s with two 17s (Struk and Dinsdale coming back from injury).
