Sunderland AFC U18s

Big result. Mostly 1st year scholars as well. Any news on the trialist?

Copley exclusive - it was Freddy Cowin from Palace. 17 yo left back.
Was at the game yesterday Sunderland had a young team with only 2 second years scholars and trialist the rest of the lads were first year scholars and 16’s . Liverpool had 4 second year scholars playing to my knowledge . Even first half but Sunderland were intense and worked extremely hard , played some really good stuff and pressed Liverpool from the back and took their chances well

The 1st team need to take a leaf out of the u18s book.

Shame the mags are light years ahead of us now in the 18's and below ages. According to some mag academy coach I was talking to any how. Told me they always win against us now. I wasn't any the wiser but had a look when I got home to see we've only played them once in the league and it was a 3-3 draw. Is he correct in the bigger picture or talking out of his hoop?

A quick look at the league table has Newcastle in 5th place. Played 21, -4 GD, 30 points.
Sunderland Played 19, +2 GD, 26 points.

The academy coach has a strange definition of light years.

On another note I was at the game yesterday and the game itself particularly the second half was infinitely more enjoyable than anything the first team have put out recently.

Certainly not light years ahead at u18. Not sure about under that, sure someone will have seen the younger ages this season. I would say unlikely they are light years ahead or even much ahead at all
