Sun stops play

Not a cloud in the sky but the sun dropped and there was a 15 min delay
 

So, despite your claim, it was actually 'lack of sun' that stopped play. :p
Blazing sun in the batsman's eye.

They turned the square at Canterbury so it had not happened before.

I can remember dickie bird taking the teams off at old Trafford in a test as the sun was reflecting off some greenhouses outside the ground
 
used to happen at hetton lyons as well, back when there used to be a different cup game every night it was a nightmare
 
Once played a league game at Blaydon when they had the allotment at the side of the ground - right behind the wicket.

Sun was shining on the greenhouses in there and was reflecting - no one could see.

Result- sunned off.
