Summerville

We need to stay away from signings like this. It's exactly what got the likes of West Ham and Wolves into trouble, and exactly what got us into trouble last time around. We spent a fortune on mediocre players until the money ran out and we had to start buying shit players.

Summerville would cost us too much (transfer fee and his wages) for what he actually delivers, and we would struggle to get much resale value.

We need to keep doing what we have been doing the last few years - looking for value-for-money in markets where you can get it.

We've got plenty of young talented left wingers, it's the right wing we need fixing for next season...

I don't think we'd want to pay the money West Ham would want for any of their players. Southampton, Leeds, Ipswich, have made decent money selling on players after relegation in recent years.

West Ham paid £38m for Fernandes, £25m for Summerville, £30m for Castellanos, £20m for Diouf, and they'd want a profit on them all.

A relegated XI to dispel the bullshit

GK: Jordan Pickford

RB: Glen Johnson
CB: Gareth Southgate
CB: Nathan Ake
LB: Andy Robertson

RW: Joe Cole
CM: Roy Keane
CM: James Milner
LW: Juninho

ST: Jermaine Defoe
ST: Paolo Di Canio

Subs: Viduka, Ravanelli, Maddison, Kinkladze, Carrick, Duff, Given, Whitehead… etc

Off the top of me heed like. Probs better out there I’ve forgotten

Had a feeling a few weeks ago he would be playing for the club who survived the relegation battle (spurs or West ham). He would be a strong fit for how Tottenham like to play, and with kudos on the other site would cause issues for most defences on pace alone
Villa.

He's a good player, and ruling out players purely because they've been relegated is a fools errand, but if we're spending on one of the wings it should be the right.

Our model is young prospects on the way up from cheaper markets or 'distressed' players who had potential and went for good money but have not fulfilled that promise (yet). We wont be buying young English players who's stock is high.

Summerville and Bowen would improve our team so i wouldn't say no to either of them if the fee was right. We are crying out for improvements on the wing especially...

Would certainly have Summerville here.

Would even go for Dan N’Doye who has had a poor first season at Forest. Definitely a player in there. Ripped Hume a new one down at their place.

If we want to continue to improve and help our slight after key players decide they’d like to stay with us for a season or two more I do think 1 or two proven signings will be key. We’ve struggled to find much quality out wide despite signing a number of players in that position. We’d also all love to see a clinical striker come in albeit that one will likely be super expensive. It’s a fine margin you can spend a lot of money on £15m-£20m players and not get a lot of quality, if we continue to live just in that price range bucket it’s a lot to hope we continue to land gems.
