Stuff the World Cup


We’ve sad all this about previous world cups . Once it starts and especially if England do well , all this negative talk will be forgotten.
 
Ever since 1978 I have been of the opinion that sadly the World Cup is nothing but a money making racket . I have seen nothing in the last 48 years that to convince me otherwise in fact the goings on of FIFA has confirmed it.

I doubt that I will take much interest in the competition unless Trump gets involved and does something terribly amusing that makes him look an even greater fool than he already is. I presume that he will have to award the trophy to the winners so that's going to have great potential to turn out to be some sort of a public relations disaster.

I have no objection to USA-Canada-Mexico hosting, but the way they are fleecing the fans is immoral. There has to be some regulations in place and agreements from host nations before they are awarded the tournament.

Personally I'd alternate between Europe and AN Other country every World Cup
2030 - Italy
2034 - Argentina
2038 - England
2042 - Australia

Doubt Trump and his football lapdog Infantino give 2 5hits about fleecing fans
However they will have done their research and know there are enough fans out there stupid enough to spend the obscene amounts talked about
$90 bus fares from à suburban bus service
$150 taxi fares from city to stadium
Private cars not allowed within reasonable distance of stadiums thus precluding dropping people off
So it goes on
 
What good would not watching it on TV do?
If you think about it, the World Cup finals by definition has millions of people engaged in the matches, with little to no intention of ever attending a match. It’s a tv event now.
Just go to a fanzone and have beer or two.
 
The bus and train fares thing is criminal and FIFA if they have anything about them (yes I know) need to get a grip of this. I read somewhere that as part of the bid , public transport to the venues would be free for fans.
 
More teams than ever before,. but fewer supporters want to travel there to watch them. Should have given it to Canada..we've only got a few stadiums suitable with natural grass, the northern Europe teams could play on the ice ..lots of hockey rinks around.

Sizeable security perimeters with several checkpoints to negotiate, I would suspect.

There will be invasive security patdowns and all delivered with no sense of humour so woebetide if you’re a fan who’s been on the sauce all day (i.e., the a sizeable number of England, Scotland, Denmark, Norway fans, etc) and say something that’s taken the wrong way.

The next World Cup in the centurial and should have been in South America with the final in Montevideo. It's now crammed into 3 continents so Asia get 2034. In other words, because Saudi Arabia want it.
 
Have had no interest in the World Cup since Japan/Korea 2002, didn't watch a minute of it in Qatar and I'll do the same again this time around.
 
Normally love the World Cup. Would not be going to it, so the extortionate travel fares and the ticket prices would mean that I will not personally be affected by it.
BUT it is still shite from the so-called guardians of the game.
I would not be going to the States anyway because of the Orange Imbecile, but the diluting of it with the extra countries alongside the crap kick off times, will means that I will probably not be watching 50%+ of the Group games.

Infantino has screwed it up…..and Chump will take over the Final (if he’s not been jailed 🤞🏻)
