Was it back in 2000 where we had 4 no.11s in the England team? Mullally,, Giddins,Tufnell and hoggard iirc
Caddick, Mullally, Tufnell and Giddins v NZ in 1999. The defeat that saw us bottom of the test rankings. Not a good year for English cricket with the World Cup shambles.

He doesn't get out to the short ball as much as you think, its the full ball, he just steps right away and across the stumps.

Also Jimmy Anderson, although always a number 11, has regressed to a ridiculous level, can't even stay in now like he used to

Its annoying and I hope they are working on it because it was their fault Buttler didn't get a 100, he was absolutely nailed on.

Yeah I think it’s because he is so conscious about getting forward

I think they just wanted to bowl. Anderson ran straight off, practicing his bowling action on the way and JB said something like "thanks twat" if my lip reading is any good

Caddick was handy with the bat, wasn't he? Not a rabbit at least.

Shame, not vital Buttler gets 100s but would have been good to get it off his back.

20 years ago he would have been our no 8
