Even if it was Broad it's quite irrelevant as Pietersen has been trying to dictate terms to the ECB all summer and they have clearly lost patience with him, as have the players. It would appear he has alienated himself within the dressing room, leading to this joke account being set up.

You may argue that Broad should be punished if culpable and there's a case for that, but it's not quite akin to slagging off your captain and coach to the opposition, giving an interview after the last test in which he effectively stated he may walk away from his highly paid, highly privelidged career as it's made so difficult for him by team mates and employers, and trying to hold his employers to ransom all summer so he can fuck off and earn a fortune playing in some hit and giggle stuff, while expecting to still walk back into the England side when he see's fit.

He deserved to be dropped, and from what players and ex pro's are saying, it seems it's gone down well within the England camp.

I'm fairly sure that national boards have to give a player permission to play overseas too. Remember when players went to the rebel ICL years ago, Azhar Mahmood I think it was, the Pakistan Cricket Board then stopped him from coming and playing T20 for Kent as punishment.

We should do the same to KP. Stop him from playing in the IPL if possible.

Thats true but some of these players have got reputations as being part of the best team in the world on the back of true world class players such as Pietersen. They should be careful what they wish for.

I think Broad has started to believe all of his own hype. He has batted and bowled pretty poorly this summer and needs a kick up the arse. Too often his speed is less than 80mph.

Agreed. Not the greatest fan of Broad's I admit. But all of our bowlers have been about 4-5 mph slower than we thought. Only Morkel and Steyn have been threatning the 90 mph mark.

Has the coach told them to bowl slow so that it swings more? Broad just looks like he's going through the motions when he's running in. Missing some of that zip.

don't really think the england bowling side of things needs changing. didn't broad take a load of wickets in the 2nd test?

And what about the first test? One good spell doesn't make a summer. He's consistently been slow, too short and lacked intensity. You need to have competition for places.

Every bowler struggled in the first test including Swann, to his credit Broad responded very well. Number 1 in the world at the moment, tends to mean things don't need tweaking much. I'm not his biggest fan but the only decision I think the only tweak needed is the KP replacement. Broad has done alright.

I agree that up to this moment in time England have been right to stick by the bowling attack. Broad has proven over a long time to be good enough but they really do need to look at why his pace has dropped so much - perhaps hes protecting an injury.

Personally I believe the problem with Broad is that he tries to bowl in 'one day mode' too much - drops really short and tries to stop them from scoring runs as opposed to bowling at the stumps or pitching it up in general.

EDIT - case and point right there. Been bowling at an economy of just over 2.00 today, but has no wickets.
