never a bad time
Can easily see broad opening the bowling in the ashes, not sure about jimmyDeserves his own thread , 500 wickets and still got plenty more in him.
Keeps fit he could easily be ahead of Jimmy in the end.
Fantastic bowler
This. Apparently he gave the match ball to Woakes after the game for his 5fer rather than his 500. Fair play. Not sure why he has had the stick he’s sometimes had from England fans.Brilliant bowler, fierce competitor and seems to be a very, very likeable bloke
Taking his wickets at 16 this year. NextJimmy looks finished for me. Age catching up with him I think. Still steady away but I just think he’s lost his edge. Thoughts?

He bowled more overs than anyone in the Southampton test, and more overs than anyone else in the 1st innings hereHe still looks a threat when he does bowl, but he seems to be bowling shorter spells and injuries are becoming more significant. Do agree that he’s coming to the end rather abruptly, which is sad to see. Think Broad will end up ahead of Jimmy by the end of it, as he looks fitter and sharper. As consistent and brilliant as Jimmy has been for us, when Broad is on the money he’s the best bowler we’ve ever had - some of his spells are absolutely unbelievable and he is such a streaky player, so great to watch when he’s on it. And given our strength in depth at present and Stokes, we can afford to “carry” a bowler when he isn’t on it (sounds bad as he certainly doesn’t need carrying, but you know what I mean)
