Should both be left out of the third test match and sent back to county cricket. And hopefully get into form for the test series v India

Both have been nothing more than average recently.

Perfect chance to look at young James Taylor and Dernbach/Woakes or whoever.

I don't think it will happen with the series being only 1-0, but its an idea.

Thoughts?

no point dropping somone after two tests of a new season. Give them the rest of the series then decide if they play in the odi's or go back to their counties.

Yeh i totally agree!

There are players performing for their Counties that deserve a place ahead of Broad and KP.

Like you say, send them back to their Counties, get some matches under their belt and see how they get on!

No way Broad should be dropped.

He has been under par, but showed what he is about with the bat, and is just coming back from a serious injury.

KP should be taken out IMO, he gets to much stick like but Sri Lankas attack is poor and would be a good chance for a young lad to play or even go with an extra bowler.

Surrey.

Best two players who aren't performing?

I'd probably say that Trott and Swann are our best two players at the minute.

form is temporary, class is permanent but if the selectors listened to the SMB Cook and Bell would be playing for their counties now

So is Onions and he's taking plenty wickets for Durham and should be back in the England fold soon.

And if they listening to you, Jimmy Anderson would be playing club cricket.

The selectors used to do this regularly in the early 90's. The result? England at the bottom of the test rankings. They are doing things correctly now in giving players time to get themselves back into form. KP needs to buck his ideas up but theres no point dropping either of them.
