Heartbreaking! This one proud club is cannon fodder for minnows of the country now ffs.

People got caught in the headlights of us being taken over by the 'richest owners in world football'. The manager was then hounded out as people seemed to thnk Jose was coming in to replace him.

The reality is we are League One and skint and could not realy afford to pay Ross and his staff off, so we were never getting an upgrade. That is why I did not wan't Ross sacked in the first place. Seems I am in the minority but that does not mean those of us in that minority are wrong.

Hmm, I understand what you're saying but that is easy to say when things have gone so badly under Parkinson...who is to say other candidates wouldn't have done far better. Ross looks to have been doing a better job given what PP is doing, but when he was here a lot of people wanted him gone for valid reasons.

i have never seen on here or heard anyone say they wanted Jose.

The damage the last few years have done to this club is going to slowly kill it. The apathy could last for years.

There are some seriously dark times ahead.

I doubt our fanbase will ever recover either. Weโ€™ll lose a generation of supporters.

Weโ€™ll be lucky to finish mid table this season. I remember this feeling - smells a lot like Moyes, a lot like Grayson, even a whiff of dare I say it Wilkinson. Pure f***ing apathy from top to bottom. Wish we still had Ross in charge.

Fans never hounded Ross out. Donald and Methven have both said they sacked him because they projected he wasn't going to take us up.

As the song goes things can only get better :D
Love my club love the fans sooner than later our luck is going to change

Youโ€™ve always got to give a new manager a decent go but flip me this one is clueless. Never wanted him and I donโ€™t think he will achieve anything but can we really expect 2 sackings in the same season?

Awful, awful appointment. I wanted Ross to go as that in itself was painful but fuck me what a pig's ear Donald has made replacing him.

People say Phillips would have been to big a gamble but at least he'd have given the place a lift and the players have respected him more than this dinosaur. Reminds me of the feeling I got replacing Reid with Wilko!

I would love to see the reasoning behind that decision and what criteria they used to project!

Probably a lot of the same analytics that people pointed to last season that said we were getting better results than we deserved.

As you may have guess from my username I have a huge interest in statistical analysis and would love to see how in-depth their analysis was.

I would suggest not very or not the 'right' statistics. And was Parkinsons' teams analysed to see if his style of play rectified highlighted weaknesses or to see if his style aligned well with the current squads hotspots in terms of analysis.

Ah fuck it I'm thinking too deeply into this.

Doesn't change the fact that we are still shit!

But...but...sacking the manager makes everything better iirc
Well no it doesnโ€™t but something had to change and when in situations like we were in, every club will look to change the manager. Thatโ€™s the cut throat business of football.

Personally I think they used the word metrics as cover in that instance. There was an article recently about how methven has developed an interested in xG completely out of the blue. I suspect it was all just an attempt to use the current zeitgeist as cover for their own inadequacies.

Parkinson in 9 games has lost nearly as many as Ross in 75 games, they could not even chuck the game properly last night but dragged it to extra time, there is something really odd going on at the moment.
