As ever you select what you want
I clearly said this
DID YOU EXPRCT STRAUSS TO RESIGN TODAY?
What you say about Key can be applied to Strauss . You totally evade and ignore what is actually said
That was my point, not jumping on anything, suggesting anything whatsoever
Now PLEASE STOP QUOTING ME
IM NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR POINT SCORING STYLE OF POST OR VIEWS FOR THAT MATTER

are you advocating a six team franchise system instead of the current county systemThe counties don’t exist without the ECB hand outs. None of them. Not a one is commercially viable as a professional sports club on what they raise. The accounts are public. For all to see.
So everyone Durham has developed since getting their seat at the table is in the end down to the ECB. Not none. All of them. A Durham without the cash isn’t viable so it develops the square root of sod all.
You and I watch them. Hardly any other fucker does. That’s the problem. I’d rather not have six franchises sure. That’s why I want us to stop living in denial. “Just watch Durham in the Blast and get it on the telly” didn’t work in the past and won’t work in the future.

The Tory jibes, are they based on anything apart from his accent?

A tale of two reigns, the board called him head boy then he got popular on here and returned and everyone hated him again![]()
TrueIt's almost like his popularity has fluctuated with the quality of decisions he made. Amazing that.
The counties don’t exist without the ECB
Whatever peoples feelings about his review (which I get) he deserves tremendous respect imo for both his captaincy of the England, and most definitely the part he played along with Morgan totally transforming our one day side from a laughing stock to the best side in the world with a great brand of cricket that produced one of the most unforgettable games this country has ever seen in winning the World Cup.
Like anybody imo you need to look at full career and full picture and pretty sure when looking at it that way the guy deserves respect
Exactly. No counties, no FTECB. Find it strange that is challengedIn defence of Strauss' review his hands were tied at the outset by ECB insisting that the Hundred was sacrosanct, had to be retained and played in August.
As to the counties being totally reliant financially on ECB handouts is misleading. The ECB are merely the administrator of cricket's income which comes almost solely from TV revenue and gate receipts from the England teams in 3 formats. Those teams consist of players from and who have been developed by the Counties. It is therefore the Counties money.

Well no money no nothing in the end. But, surely the ecb, TCCB or whatever name it goes under has to look after all cricket, clubs counties and the England team. For decades the counties have supported and developed the England team and the England raised the finances to keep the counties operating. It does my head in that the 'powers that be' have tried to destroy the Counties. Playing with fire.Yes I think that when the TCCB disbanded in favour of the newly formed ECB, one or two of those in charge began to feel that cricket should be a moneymaking business.
The trend seemed to begin with Lord Tesco who was then replaced by Giles Clarke who was then replaced by Graves and Harrison. Money was made all right but not by the counties.
In a sense, although the England team and Test Cricket have the glamour, the most important level is the County level. They support everything.
