Storm Isha

Wheatley Hill?

Just going through Thornley. Seen some lights on.

Sure I noticed some lights in Wheatley Hill but I wasn't paying much attention

Half the village is on. They're now saying could be 2pm latest. Unbelievable the loud bang off the lines last night it lit up the whole street before the bang. They'll have done well if it's back on before 2pm

ironically i was watching "the flood".......................in 4D with the sound effects
Think that's due for a repeat tomorrow then

Biblical downpours
-wear a coat
-don't splash in muddy puddles like Peppa Pig
-buy a new house away from flood plains

River in Durham looked well high

Be alreet up in Crook. Actually does Crook have a river?

i`ve been in hunwick the last 8 or 9 years or so just never changed my username

the river wear is reasonably close but if we flood because of that, the countrys under water ! as its about a half mile away down a steep hill.

our house is quite exposed at the back though so we get battered off anything coming from the west.

there are a few little streams and becks in crook but nothing "big"

Stupid observation maybe i dont know… but wont some folk on internal flights possibly be dumped in germany or france n have no passport? What happens there!!

Best mates been skiing last week, aborted gatwick landing last night n dumped in Paris!
Maybe SEB, but if they've no passport they cannot leave the airport - they are stuck there.

Already one flight in Paris where that's happened that I know of.

Was a red warning for us up in the arse end of Scotland thru the early hours of this morning. Genuinely surprised we still have power. A lot less windy now and it’s also sunny and pissing rain at the same time.

Garden is mess with lots of stuff being blown around but otherwise have escaped.

It's bin day here and looking down the street some which were put out las night have been blown over.

Each company has it's own criteria and then the wind gusts come and go. So one might try a landing and abort, then the wind drops for 10 minutes so the one behind can land, then it picks up again. I was just reading about landings at Funchal airport in Madeira the other day as that gets badly affected by wind.

61 hours to get from Manchester to Funchal!
We left Madeira for ponta delgada and the landing was awful. But the day after, for a week, no flights could take off or land in Madeira because of the wind for 5 days
Me and the missus were delayed for two and a half days once at Funchal, due to high winds.
