Average attendance last season was 41K, our last campaign in the Championship we had an average of 33K (i think), I could well imagine that when planning for the season one of the worse scenarios was that we pull in sub-30K, so it possible they've financially planned for this, if we were to drop really low, like in all seriousness 20K or less they would be required to make immediate changes.

Nobody is forcing you, jesus christ this is a message board is it not?
It is, but every single week people are telling people to stop going.

Another post telling people what they should do. And another post where I will say I respect the decision of those who have decided not to go, please respect the decision of those who have decided to continue to go

At what point would something like this be acceptable for one game Janey ? Because to me something drastic needs to be done

Its madness for me how people will think this will make the slightest bit of difference. The club still has your money for season tickets. They couldnt care less if you are there or not - the income of you buying a pie at half time is hardly keeping the club afloat. Supporters support. They dont fuck off when the going gets hard.

I don't think it makes any difference money wise. Ticket sales mean nothiing these days but what it may make a difference to is showing people won't accept the current situation and how it would be reported in the media if they were playing to an empty stadium. We don't want alot winning a couple of games a year would be an improvement. It's not a case of going missing when things get hard. I was there for the two lowest point seasons but i cannot condone/support the current state of our club.

If our job is only to support we might aswell become direct debit donors and just install loud speakers in the stands for noise.

Sunderland is a vocation rather than something fun at the weekend to me. When we're being handled poorly it's our job to let the club know we won't stand for it, if that means protesting, supporting (financially or otherwise) or otherwise.

I don’t even buy a pie :)
No denying it’s easy at the moment it’s shit but me staying away will make no difference whatsoever. Ellis is hardly going to say to himself, “oh boy we are in trouble, janey and her dad aren’t there today”

I didn't got today and won't be going Tuesday. First time in 30 years that I have done that from choice. I see the club absolutely falling apart and I cannot go and support that.

I’ve been going 40 years mate, I’ve missed the last 4 home games.
My season card is in the drawer and it’s staying there unless and until there is change at the club.

I despise Bain, Short, Grayson and almost every player. I love SAFC but I hate these absolute fuckwits

I totally agree - however not attending just looks like you cant be arsed. Its not organised. Its not like 40k 40k 40k 12k 40k attendances in which case you could go oooo yeah. Your attendances have shown people cant be arsed from the off. It doesnt look like a statement more you just cant be fucked as its shit and its cold.

You staying away would make no difference........but the majority staying away might????? I don't see anything else that can change things and I honeslty don't see this manager turning it around....although I hope I'm completely wrong.

Don’t agree Janey, well as long as you two were part of the many many thousands doing the same

Fair play to you. Bet you and your dad never stopped you know err supporting.

Well, it's a start is it not? Look, the only way we're going to get a tiny attendance is if some kind of movement within fan circles is agreed upon, which means at that for it to be implemented and successfull youd have leaflets, podcasts, fans on the radio and everything else talking about it. It become a thing at that point, not just me posting on RTG.

If the club doesn't care about fans attending games then that speaks volumes about their attitude towards the people who attend the games.

Fans have very little input into what happens at the club, but the only way that they can have their voice heard is by not attending. It may make no difference in the running of the club or who the manager is, but at least fans will feel as if they are making a statement.

Also, don't give me the whole 'supporters support' shite. I haven't seen us win a game of football since November. The club is pathetic in every respect at the moment, and the club should feel lucky that fans still attend.

We'll end up in administration by the end of season. Need a buyer desperately.

I don't know what not going will accomplish, Short wants to sell, so it's not gonna make him stay. He clearly won't put any cash in.

It's upto the current lot to drag us out the shit :lol::lol:

For me never, it won’t make any difference, I know it’s shit but Ellis Short couldn’t care whether I’m there or not.
And I’m just a little tired of people telling fans to stop going. I might not get another season, I might not even get to finish this season going with me dad and I’m not sacrificing that.
People have all sorts of reasons for going and others should respect that.
There was a little lad 6/7 sitting two rows in front of us today, he sat on his dad’s knee all the way through and watched every kick. It was a joy to watch him. Why should he not go?

I have no problem with people going let me get that crystal clear first and foremost, as for the young lad if he enjoys it going with his dad fair enough, but what' I mean is, it's becoming clearer by the week that something drastic needs to be done, which is why I wondered what your opinion on when those ideas were asked of fans ,As for your reasons for going as you are aware I know why.

I don’t know what the answer is I truly don’t, I’ve no problem accepting something drastic needs to happen. I just don’t think an empty stadium will bother Short anymore, it might have done at one time but I think he’s just given up. In the days when gate receipts were the main income it might have made a difference but it’s not anymore and he has season card money up front anyway.
I remember when Drumaville bought us, one of the attractions was the huge support, if I was a prospective buyer an empty ground wouldn’t be an incentive that would encourage me to buy. Mind that could be with my football supporters head on rather than the potential owner of a football clubs head

Posters telling posters not to go, then complain about lack of noise from the fans.
