Previously yes, I think he's way past his best. Personally I think he's on the way down and I worry that he's got too much say in the dressing room.

Fact is, we were outbowled in English conditions by Pakistan and for me, he was the main culprit. It's too comfortable him, he can pretty much do what he wants without fear of being dropped - so personally I'd drop him. Freshen things up. Send a message to the whole squad that nobody is safe. Maybe then we'd see more fight and character. Instead of just going through the motions as we slip to ANOTHER annihilation.
Issue is his replacement and the fact Wood rarely takes wickets. Stokes is always good for chipping in with wickets however if he’s out who’s going to take the wickets with the exception of Anderson? We wouldn’t take 20 wickets in a game

Wood is massibmas over rated, I'd try curren he's young improving and brings something different to the attack.

We don't take 20 wickets with Stokes in the team so that's a weak argument

Wood is incorrectly used that's why. Because he's capable of bowling over 90mph, for some reason England insist he bowls short.

I'd like to see him given the new ball and just be told to bowl a good length on or around fourth stump.

He's not great let's be honest

Injuries have finally done for Woody bowling at 90mph+. Inevitable I suppose. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see him playing for England for much longer.

I'd have him in my team.

Interesting you say that, but it was noted following the Lords Test that his average pace was quicker than he's previously managed in Tests.........

Another thing I agree with Vaughan on -

Look at how the Aussies use Starc, the way he bowls and the plans adopted for him.

The way England use Wood is a f***ing disgrace. He's usually allowed 2/3 overs of proper bowling, then they stick 2 men deep behind square, get a short leg in, possibly a leg slip and tell him to aim for the throat. It's f***ing embarassing.

Fit apparently, I’d play Curran as well tbh. Drop Broad.

Edit, not fit according to Twitter

Problem is with Wood that he just doesn't take many wickets. 30 wickets in 12 tests, that just over 1 per innings at an average of 41. Never taken more than 3 wickets in an innings.

It's no wonder he doesn't take wickets when he's constantly being asked to bang it in short.
