Good read that. Also interesting about Sam Robson. Summit not right there, reckon he prefers Australia but can't tell the ECB that or he'll have no career at Middlesex.

media still talking about his batting above his bowling. Not been the way its panned out this year so far. Certainly not in county championship. Would be great if his batting moved on next season.

Aye, it's been really disappointing. Plus, this season has been much better for batsmen in general too.

Good article by James. Durham will also find in this weeks championship match what a miss Stokes is to the balance of the side even before a ball is bowled. Even with other all rounders they will have to decide do they go in with 4 front line seamers batting no8 to no11 and trust Borthwick to be the only spinner. Or go into a match at the Riverside with only 3 front line seamers and an extra spinner.
The actual amount of runs Stokes has scored in the championship this season has been disapointing but he looks a class ahead of any other batsmen in the team. His one day form has been pretty good. His bowling has been outstanding.

Haven't seen anywhere near as much of Durham as I would have liked over the last few years. Going on BH monday for the YB40, and looking forward to it.

England is just to much money these days. What is it £80 for a day at the test.

The 80 quid was worth every penny for each day

I dont mind tbh, a good chance for someone else to step up. English Test Cricket comes first for me.

having the lions play overseas during the winter would help english test cricket more than the farce that goes on at the minute

They have a development squad in the Winter iirc.

well then let the lads play for their counties in summer, it's bad enough having a county championship without any english test players, half the time the odi players too, seldom an international test player or la for more than temporary signings without the fringe international players been yanked about just to play half arsed pseudo international cricket anarl
