Stocks n Shares ISA

That's only for drawdowns and I'm a few years away from that so I haven't really looked at it. I could change provider again before then.

I will see how this HL transfer goes then I have another former workplace pension that I'd like to move too but I thought it would be safer to do one at a time.
Yes don't do a transfer too near to you wanting it though, think I posted here or on the retirement thread about some transfers taking over a year to complete:eek:
You may find, like me, the older you get the less hassle you want 👍

Yup. I'm in the process now if moving my SIPP from HL to Interactive Investor. I've been happy with the HL platform but the time has come to get a better deal.
How big are the savings? I feel like it's something I should do, but the HL platform is really intuitive whereas I find II to be a total headfuck.

HL gets expensive quickly for bigger pots while II is capped (£375 a year I think under the upcoming price charges).

I've spent the evening playing with the II platform and it is a total mess compared to HL. I suppose higher fees pays for better software.

That's a pretty worthwhile saving.

When you file the transfer, are you transferring over the funds within the SIPP / ISA wrappers, or do you have to sell them and rebuy them on the new platform?

If the new platform has exactly the same funds you can do in specie transfer so you are never out of the market, this apparently takes longer.
If they don't have the same funds then you have to sell to cash, this way is supposed to be quicker but you are out of the market.
When I say sell to cash I mean sell to cash within the ISA don't withdraw the money or you've knackered yourself

Would any of you be kind enough to recommend a trusted financial adviser in Sunderland I could go and sit with to discuss what to do, share my risk appetite, need for access etc, it would be five figures so need someone who takes on such amounts. Appreciate any help.

As we're talking about fees, if someone with a significant portion invested in funds is thinking of moving from Provider A to Provider B because B appears cheaper, they should also should check what fee discounts / reimbursements they get with each provider and factor them into the comparison.

It is also worth checking the spreads, particularly on open ended funds which aren't necessarily priced by a market directly, as fees can be hidden within.

Novice here, is it worth investing in rockstar games (take-two interactive software) with the new GTA to come out this year as it’s going to be the biggest selling game ever or has that shop already sailed?

Ask someone who invested heavily in CD Project Red before Cyberpunk 2077 came out. You're probably right but individual share investments are always a big risk. Too much for me.

Theoretically, the market knows GTA is coming out so the sales are priced in.

There's been a big increase over the last year, your own judgement it'll exceed the sales/profits the market is expecting.

Fun fact.
How much has silver risen in value in the last 7 days

Everyone knows its coming out so the share price will already be reflecting the expected outcome of that.

Looked into buying some actual silver last week, rather than a silver fund, was put off because it attracts vat which I was surprised about

Will be huge. Markets have already factored in so much, but the GTA6 release will be the biggest game release of the decade. I'd expect 20-30% returns if you buy in now and sell within 6 months of release.

Nobody knows , depends if a big dip lies ahead or if likely to keep rising , but mostly depends how long you can leave the lumpa invested and not touch it
None of what I say helps I know 🤣
I thought there’d been a dip, I’m not very good with this financial carry on haha

What do people do when they have reached their limit for isa allowance? Withdraw it and invest in something else then start again the next tax year? I’m new to this so forgive me if it sounds stupid
