Still in our hands

I get the pessimism. It’s almost ingrained being an SAFC supporter but FFS. All this bullshit about limping beast and we’ll lose is f***ing ridiculous.
We’ll likely be facing a combination of Lincoln / Portsmouth / Charlton / Blackpool. Not Athletico / Real / City / Munich.

No-one would swap our squad for any of those clubs we’d potentially face in the playoffs. We’re SAFC ffs. Some need to grow some balls on here.
Not sure how meaningless tubthumping is going to help mind.

Here’s me thinking this was a Sunderland message board. Is pessimism really that entrenched that speaking with passion is not allowed? 🤔
Passions great.

Suggesting we should win the play offs because of who we are as opposed to what we differs from my way of thinking.

Doesn't make it not allowed, I just don't understand it.

Maybe slightly lost in translation. I'm not for a moment suggesting that we should walk the playoffs because of who we are. More so that when fans of this club start making statements of certainty like 'we'll lose' or 'we should be scared of (insert L1 team of your choice)' then it's time for them to think about doing something other than following SAFC.

Just a different way of thinking I reckon. I don't think you need to be super positive when predicting things to enjoy the club.

I think doing so often breeds discontent towards the managers and players when things don't go well.

It's wild that exactly 25 days ago we were minutes away from being tied with Peterborough with a game in hand and a point behind Hull with 2 games in hand including head to head matchups with each of them. If you'd have told me we drew with both of them but would be 10 to 13 points behind both in the span of 7 matches (5 matches in Hull's case), I'd think you were crazy.
