Short was a billionaire to take us to the next level iirc

proof is always in the pudding , fingers crossed
And this is the problem, Short was infinitely more wealthy than these guys and failed in a business which comes down to money.

Whilst this is positive news, I'm very cautious.

He has. And their friends are even richer...

I hope you’re right.

If the consortium is so well backed, though; why install as Owner someone who has spent the last 6 years trying - and failing (despite spending far more than the clubs around him) - to get a semi-professional club out of non-league football?

It just doesn’t add up.

We have no idea if that is the case or not. We don't even know with any certainty who the backers are.
Having different people involved is also a lot better than one money man calling the shots.

I'm over the moon we have a 'football brain' behind us now. I think we've lacked that a lot recently and I don't just mean someone who played football and knows about it (like Quinny) but someone who knows what it's like to do the day to day running of a club

I knew about this last Saturday (21/4) . Had to keep it to myself but got pissed off when i saw Nixon et al doling out shite that nothing was happening. There's a couple of posters could back me up as they had the odd Pm.
Seriously, it's pathetic how the media go on. Always lads on here who know before anyone.

Do you think McCarthy left Ipswich to come here?

All can be good with that unless they start falling out mate

No situation will ever be perfect but better that than the bloke who brought the ball f***ing off with it in a huff marra.
I agree

Wasn't casting doubts there mate- just saying it can and does happen.
Your damned if you do and damned if you don't in football club ownership

In what way are you linked to this deal?

The mittens lad is an interesting one. He can only be one of only a few people.

I have my suspicions.

He's nowt to do with ALS or any fan group necessarily.
He's written published stuff about Ellis Short
He loved Chris Coleman with a passion

I'm getting the word **** ************

Such a terrible user name though A children's nursery rhyme. Bit sort of noncey.

It's from the tv show "it's always sunny in philadelphia"

Chuffed with some of the stuff from the RR. Great to see the 4 free home games a year. Granted we probably won’t get that but it shows the bloke wants a full ground and also wants to connect with the fans.

Was he ? You simply don't know and you're just guessing.
