Bruce said the incident before the 3-3 draw with Preston North End last year which led to his sacking had left a bitter taste in his mouth.

:lol: The game in question happened 8 years ago. Wigan scored a 94th minute winner which prompted a few thousand to boo and chant "You fat Geordie bastard, get out of our club" for about a minute. In fact there's a video on YouTube which starts just as the goal goes in and ends after the chant died down - the entire video is just over a minute long. For years afterwards Bruce never shut up about it and the story got more and more elaborate, and now 8 years later he's just remembered getting a police escort home. Aye right

He's had a canny few sackings like. I'd ask him which job he left and dumped the club he was leaving in the shit he enjoyed most. Entirely lacks integrity

I wonder if Northumbria Police would back that story up?

We gave him plenty resources and he choose to sell Henderson and replaced him with Gardner and Vaughan.

He would have relegated us that season. Bruce got a lot easier ride than a number of other managers.

Pardew got plenty of stick, even fans confronting him on the pitch, yet never slates the mags like Bruce does with us.

Poyet got abuse in his final weeks with us but praised the fans after his sacking.

Bruce is like a bloke who got binned off his lass and still can’t get over it.
