He had 10 games to save them, he failed, simple as that.
We've been in that position twice with Advocaat and [b[di canio[/b], stayed up on both occasions.
So far at Newcastle Benitez has been a complete failure.

Fwiw, Benitez's points per game was higher than Di Canio's. It's because your revival last season was so strong that we didn't stay up.

I can't remember who Di Canio reigned in but if you had replicated that team's performance, we would have stayed up and you would have been relegated.

At the end of the day they both had the same aim, avoid relegation.
One succeeded and one failed.

It's all ifs and buts. Bottom line is he failed miserably yet you all think it's acceptable as he's won a couple of trophies nearly a decade ago and swapped the bernabou for burton away

This could go either way; only time and results will tell.
Naturally, I hope he goes from hero to zero before Christmas.

Won la Liga in 2002
Got to the Champions League final with Liverpool in 2007
Won the Europa League with Chelsea in 2013

Looks 'mediocre to poor' to me. Yes, he hasn't performed to the level expected recently but you can't brush over other stuff and paint him as 'one night wonder'.

Gerrard won him that Champions League. They looked dead and buried. He also benefited to Liverpool playing so well in his tenure with the outstanding form of Torres, yet still managed to actually not do much.

The Chelsea thing is nothing special. They could have had Carver as their manager for how little input the manager would have had on that established squad of players. He simply sat in the seat and watched an established team win. Had mostly fuck all to do with him really.

Steady on.

fuckin hell man
as Beverly Knight sang Woulda Coulda Shoulda are the last words of a fool

He was good at Valencia in 2004 and then has failed in the league in whichever country he has been at since whilst spending £100's of miliions. Take away one night in Istanbul and hes been a very mediocre to poor manager.

When, allegedly, Stevie-G told his teammates to IGNORE Rafa's instructions so that they'd give themselves a chance.

If you take away the Spurs game how do his stats measure up against McLaren's? Genuine question.

Swings and roundabouts, Di Canio didnt inherit 100m worth of signings.

Some of your lot are saying Benitez is a better manager than Simeone man

Benitez - 1.11 PPG
McClaren - 1 PPG.

Any other results you want to take out for Benitez/McClaren?

How many Sunderland managers have won the CL and then failed at such clubs as Real Madrid? Just asking. The rafalution shite is bollocks but surely you can understand why ppl are excited?

Villa have just got a champions league winning manager. They don't go on about it too much though

£81m, £13.5m of which was already out on loan (I know he's shite anyway, but still)

Who is saying this? Link me, I want a laugh.

No I did think there wasn't a massive amount of difference. The Spurs game was obviously a fluke result (shop window etc). Adds up to an extra 4 points over the season. Just for parity I've not done a check on the Allardyce/Advoccat comparison so feel free.
