Doesn't matter about the pedigree. Fact is one manager is plying his trade in the PL and one is managing a championship club.

If wonderful Rafa had a better offer from elsewhere he wouldn't have stayed. From the bernabau to Burton

Really? Fancy Gareth Southgate for England by any chance?

How many Sunderland managers have won the CL and then failed at such clubs as Real Madrid? Just asking. The rafalution shite is bollocks but surely you can understand why ppl are excited?
There's a difference between excited anticipation and full on delusional madness. Its fine thinking youve got a great chance to get back into the premier league and that once you are you have a great chance of actually moving forward once you have. But the way the Ronnie and an element of your support are going on is slightly maniacal.

It's not just that, it's this weird delusion that anyone that goes within 15 miles of the sports direct arena instantly falls in love with the club. Everyone's 2nd team etc.

Again, how many managers have Sunderland had with that pedigree? All managers fail. Jose was sacked from Chelsea does that mean he is shite at Man utd? Pepe never won the CL with Bayern is he shite at City?
You'd be as excited about Di Matteo? Same league as Newcastle. Top 2?

I know right.

Mouth watering fixtures against mighty Buxton Fc

This!

I have a theory - we all know how they all hark back to the Keegan days, I think that they have made the seismic leap to Benitez will guarantee at least the same kind of football and results. Everything else is then mentally shuffled into a conveniently supportive fact to support this eg relegation is helpful to rebuild etc

The champions league winner who got to the final through a Garcia goal that shouldn't have counted. Can't compete with that.

Surely you'd wonder why an illustrious winner would join a joke like them lot!

Got to ask yourself though if he's that good what the fuck is he doing in the f***ing championship then.

Fucks sake, beaten!

I understand the champions league which Rafa was quite lucky to win tbf but failing at real is hardly a CV booster is it, and he didn't improve anything which is why you went down, that said I think you'll walk the league.

I reckon the word " championship " has been lost in translation. When the season starts and he kills on its not champions league the toys will then come out the pram. He's as deluded as the rest of them

When they were first relegated by us there was a definite element of trying to convince themselves that it was a good thing. You even saw some if us trying to do it when it looked like we were doomed (the amount of threads that stated relegation would be good at least we could clear decks ect). The problem is like any group of people that share a mantra if you say it often enough you believe it. And they now believe in it with the fervour of a religious cult.
