Stay Humble

Yesterday's match thread was one of the worse I've known. People spouting utter shite and slagging half the team off.

Yeah O'Nein wasn't great but Ballard wasn't match fit. Anyone with half a brain knows a player who hasn't played for over a month can't be expected to start a game but apparently Regis was just being stubborn

Halfway through the second half we had been f***ing shite all game. Despite playing canny first half but hey forget about that, we've been shite

Then Diarra, a 22 year old in his first season at the top level makes a brilliant run, is picked out and makes a reasonable attempt to score, only denied by a great save by a world cup winner. Apparently he was just trying to be a show pony / selfish etc. He's f***ing shite, never does nowt (great run and cross for the first goal yesterday!) should be sold and never play for us again. I've known more mature people still wearing nappies. Absolute horrendous 'supporters'.

Stay humble. Enjoy the lads efforts and back them especially when the going gets tough or fuck off.
You need to start permanently banning anyone with mag-like behaviour. It's not that it's offensive, but there is zero point in arguing with these righteous, receipt-gripping consumers or tolerating the intolerable.

No need for people to go on like complete c_unts, they need to grow up.

3 or 4 telling Diarra to pack his bags and fuck off.
I just take it at the time as heat of the moment stuff tbh. You hear comments off the cuff at games since i've been going. Doesn't bother me tbh mate.

Brilliant post.
I can't think of many (if any) teams that have gone up into the top flight in the last few years that have had the season you lot are having.
If we (Boro) go up this season (looking unlikely I know), I'd be absolutely ecstatic if we finished 18th in the premier league.
It's been touch and go for Leeds (last season's champions), yet you (play off winners) have stayed up at a canter and have (in my mind) never looked out of place in any way.
Agree about Diarra too, I noticed his involvement in your first goal.
Players are human too and as you say, Martinez is no mug.

I said this earlier in the season and I still believe it - whether you qualify for Europe or not, your manager should be right up there in the manager of the season voting.

17th!

You have as good a chance as anyone in the lottery of the play offs. On paper you have nowhere near the players Ipswich have but you gave them a good game and were unlucky to only draw. Let's face it Like Ayling and Alan Browne aren't top draw Championship players. Brown is OK but didn't make out best 11 last season. Ayling is long in the tooth but they are battlers and sometimes that gets you over the line.

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if we ended up 7th (missing out on the play offs).
Agree about the Ipswich game though - that penalty award was a bit of a sickener.

Re Sunderland - couldn't agree more with your last sentence (on your original post).
As long as the players are giving it their all then no matter how tough it gets, back em.
It's times like that that the players need it.

Couldn't agree more. Remember where we were 5 years ago and realise we are now a very good team that is in early development but dare to dream too. Nowt wrong with that. Every day is a new starting point. Onwards and upwards.

I've only had a quick look through some of the shite after yesterday but there was some very mag-eque comments. We don't want to be turning into a bunch of helmets like that lot

It was similar after the Fulham defeat. Its a worry, especially next season when expectation ramps up.

A lot of football fans think that a negative opinion is somehow more worthy and insightful than a positive or neutral one. Been like this for years, the Alan Hansen-ification of football discourse.

People were calling for Le Bris' head a few weeks ago.

I think it’s fair to be upset especially with emotions running high after such a crazy game and it is ok to dig out a player like Diarra for his poor decision making and O,nien for having a mate, but it is how you do it that is the difference.
I think digging out any player for a poor decision is a descussion to have and any plyer we think could of done better but on the actual match thread there was things like we should be ebating these etc and i just dont want our fans to be liek that i want us to jujst be happy with where we are hea

exactly man this is the stuff we need to stop
