Stay Humble

Ok not saying before the game but after Diarra miss and when Villa were winning the match thread was full of people saying that

I am on about as a whole though dont be like the visitors thinking we have a god giving right and just enjoy every bot of it cos we are going to keep getting better and better and the future is looking very good
Like i said, it's just people frustrated at a great opportunity missed, that's football. Passion.....it's why we love it.

The fans were with the team yesterday. Haven't heard the fans not get behind the team. On here it's just frustration and people letting off steam mate. Football is passionate. We need to move on from saying we were in League 1 once, we have moved on and some fans need to ;)
We have moved on. We are now (to our surprise) a mid-table side that is capable of going toe-to-toe with top teams and getting the occasional result while also getting beaten by teams in the bottom third. Because we've done so well this season, there are many in here who feel we should be getting results against the top teams and never losing points against bottom teams. It's not realistic, it's even entitled. We are working to that level, but it ain't going to happen in our first year up!

Cant argue with that, this season every game has felt like a cup final
I agree and it's been one hell of a ride. It also brings back wonderful memories and the great times under Peter Reid and finishing 7 twice in the prem. When out drinking, the town was filled with song and totally buzzing at night. Such happiness that football gave us back then, has returned. :D

He's referring to the sentiment expressed by many in here that we were entitled to win against Villa and looking for all the scapegoats/excuses about a 4-3 loss to a quality team.
Like i posted before, i haven't seen anyone saying we should be beating Villa??

Like i say mate, i haven't seen posters saying we SHOULD be beating anyone in this league.

Maybe, but what's almost universally implied by the usual suspects is that we'd have won the game had RLB followed their team selection, substitutions, set up and game plan and our players had, in every situation, been able to follow every single instruction they'd been given. :)

All of the people who are wound up because we lost obviously expected a result!

It was the exact same save he made against Kolo Muani in the world cup final, which is why I called it as a great save and not Diarra being a "show pony"

Some people need to be actively called out for spouting utter shite.
Aye he is good at staying big in those 121s

Seen some absolute whoppers on here about the Villa game and other games this season

But through it all we have had a great season mind, better then any of us ever thought

So lets not spoil ourselves as fans and realise that we have done amazing and come a long way this season alone

We now have the best team I have ever seen in my lifetime

And i am not saying lets all be happy clappers but lets not be like some other visiting team fans and lets just Stay Humble lads and lasses and appreciate where we are and also look forward to what is to come

Its one hell of a ride being a MLF
Spot on stay humble fantastic season we are in the bonus part of the season

I think it’s fair to be upset especially with emotions running high after such a crazy game and it is ok to dig out a player like Diarra for his poor decision making and O,nien for having a mate, but it is how you do it that is the difference.

Indeed. That fact is not lost even on me. Even to me comparing it to what I expected it has been far in excess of that. We have done way more than I thought we would do. G

I would have been more than elated with 17th or thereabouts. This season at any other club in the Premier League would have seen protests and the managers head go. The owners would have been taken out to stocks and rotten veg chucked at them. At most other clubs this would have been a season of underperformance. It goes to show how much a few wins and mid table constitutes a season of success for a newly promoted club.

I hate to use the O word. The O word that many have been using in relation to us. Because this season is just what the target for a newly promoted team should always be. Mid table and get a few wins. But what we ultimately are celebrating is the fact we have done it and done it well, when so many who come up can’t even do that.
