That's not his idea and you know itI agree - but floggin' the ground to raise money for a handful of championship players doesn't sound like a very good opportunity to me.

I couldn't care less. If it's a sponsorship thing for x number of years I've got no attachment to the current name.
And the idea of the hotels or whatever was to create revenue for years to come.
We'll see what happens. I trust they won't do it unless it is well worked through and sensible.
i am against it as an idea...i can see their logic that in most buisnesses you would gear up an asset like that..but the replacement cost for a football stadium is waay to high to justify doing it..One of the main things the club had going for it in spite of all the financial chaos was the fact it owned its home. Obviously mortgaging against it isn't akin to selling it off but it sounds a half-baked idea at best. Especially for a return which is (a) fanciful and (b) not even that good if it was achievable.
I'm just gannin' off the OP.That's not his idea and you know it

the idea isnt to flog the ground, its to mortgage it, kjust like the training ground is mortgaged now.I'm just gannin' off the OP.
That’s not what they are proposing though.I agree - but floggin' the ground to raise money for a handful of championship players doesn't sound like a very good opportunity to me.

Why not read what they’ve said before you criticise.

I recognise somebody trying to be a smart arse when I see it.![]()
Fuck sake man, can't you recognise a bit of hyperbole when you see it.
This.
I'm not trying to be a smart arse, I just think it's a bad idea. The logic is that the Stadium is £80m worth of the club's prime assets and I don't think we should be pawning any percentage of it off to fund some venture that could quite conceivably generate the square root of fuck all in terms of funding for the club.I recognise somebody trying to be a smart arse when I see it.
All you’re doing is your usual criticism without any logic behind your arguement, and no alternative proposal.
Corbyn would be proud of you.
he said juan will be there to fund things..but the more ideas he can think of the better..the stadium includes black cat house and the aoiol right? and they are already mortgaged...you didnt complian when they were mortgaged?I'm not trying to be a smart arse, I just think it's a bad idea. The logic is that the Stadium is £80m worth of the club's prime assets and I don't think we should be pawning any percentage of it off to fund some venture that could quite conceivably generate the square root of fuck all in terms of funding for the club.
Why should I offer an alternative? Would an alternative make it any less of a bad idea? Nor would it bollocks.
And what happened to "funds will be available when the time comes"? Or the rhetoric on here that Juan will be able to front up the cash when needs be? Why are we now talking about refinancing the ground? Sorry but it just doesn't sit well with me.
But as I say, I was gannin' off the OP. It's there to comment on, so I did.
Fair enough. That’s your opinion and I respect it.I'm not trying to be a smart arse, I just think it's a bad idea. I agree - I just don't like this one.he said juan will be there to fund things..but the more ideas he can think of the better..the stadium includes black cat house and the aoiol right? and they are already mortgaged...you didnt complian when they were mortgaged?

The OP didn't say that either and you know itI'm just gannin' off the OP.
It's taken friggin' ages but I've finally gotten to the snippet we're talking about. Fair play he's using his imagination a bit but I think even he'd admit at those numbers it's a bit fanciful. Pie in the sky really. To answer your question in the OP (didn't realise it was you when I first replied to this post) yeah it would expose the ground to some risk, and I'd be very wary of that. That's not his idea and you know it

Pleased you've listened to it and I agree, the figures are fanciful but he has a point about making our assets work for us. It's sensible in my opinion but by God it needs safeguards. It's taken friggin' ages but I've finally gotten to the snippet we're talking about. I've gotta admit he talks a good game like.
See above.
