Sri Lanka v England 2nd Test

Excellent days cricket where the batsmen had to work for their runs.

Still think its evens as Sri Lanka will be thinking they are right back in it once they shift one of these two (as the middle order are most likely to fall in a heap).

yes, it changed its mind :lol:

Watched it on the highlights. It did as it always does. It shows where the ball is when it hits the pad (at that point in its journey towards the stumps it is central) Then it goes on to show where it would have hit the stumps (by the time it reaches the stumps its gone off to one side). Thats fine as thats what it is meant to do :-?

It's been a while since all of our top 4 have scored 50s, makes a change. Finally, we're back in some form of control of a test match. Unfortunately I have a feeling this might be heading for a draw, even though we've upped the scoring rate a bit, getting far enough ahead to bowl them out without having to bat again is going to be a tough ask.

At the current rate though, if we can aim to get to 550 before lunch tomorrow, we can stick them back in and have 5 sessions to get them out, which should give us a decent chance even if we have to bat again.

any of you got a link for this? none of mine are working:-(

Great century from KP there, pity about the umpires bowing to pressure and making up the rules as they go along warning him for doing the switch hit, but it seemed to be all the incentive he needed to get those 2 runs. Looks like he's seeing the ball brilliantly today and it's good to see him with so much confidence.

Genius innings from KP. I said when he got to 86 he would get to a hundred in four balls or get out

The umpires warning Pietersen (who has basically scored a run a ball ton) for time wasting is the equivalent of warning a team 1-0 down in the 89th minute of a football match for time wasting. Absolutely ridiculous umpiring

In a great position here, positive last session needed. This is the sort of innings we have needed all winter from KP, top class!

was apparent from first test in Pakistan we were only going to ever win a test on sub continent if KP and Cook fired together and looks like that will be the case in this test.
