if you were a spurs fan, would you not find it a bit distasteful that your club was taking advantage of the taxpayer, when clearly the club has other monies available?

Especially given that many people are getting no wages, and have even lost their jobs, due to current circumstances?

Why it’s obviously a loan that Spurs are clearly eligible for otherwise the loan wouldn’t have been signed off by the BOE as being fit for the the conditions and criteria that is in the agreement.

I don’t know the ins and outs of the deal and neither do you, so who are you to be making scathing judgements about Spurs finances and any loans that they feel necessary to put in place, it isn’t a gift to Spurs is it the money will actually be paid back and with some interest as well, how is that harming the tax payer.

If Spurs stadium is allowed to have spectators return in the not too distant future Spurs might be able to return the money early or they might be allowed to keep it and pay it down who knows.

The rate is well below market rates.

I know the ins and outs of it btw

Then you will know that Spurs are paying the same rate of interest of 0.5% as any other business that has taken up
that offer and that they are not breaking any rules In doing so.

I’ve never said they are breaking any rules.

Personally I think it’s bullshit that a private company owned by a Bahamas based billionaire takes government support. I said the same about Bransons attempt

there is no doubt it’s legit, I just don’t think it’s right.

Well Spurs are not owned by Joe Lewis alone, Daniel Levy owns about 30% and 15% of the club is still owned by our fans, Spurs are a UK club and pay income tax, £26m was paid out in tax for the last set of accounts if I remember correctly and that is without a much bigger contribution of tax that will have been paid out to the tax man by our players, so don’t worry the UK economy does very well from Spurs contributions to the tax man, taking into account that Spurs post large profits nearly every year.

Some of that is fair. The tax paid by your players is an argument that could apply anywhere. Starbucks springs to mind

Just look at Spurs fantastic training facilities and our amazing new 1bn plus stadium and the huge number of houses and Schools and colleges that Spurs have built and are going to continue to build long into the future, keeping literally thousands of people in employment and adding untold money into the economy, in the short term and the long term but you just carry on digging Spurs out on every occasion possible wont you mate.

 I’ve said it’s legal. I’ve just said it’s poor that a billionaire takes government support for a privately owned company. Just like I said about Branson.

Have you ever criticised your club?

Yes I do just like the vast majority of Spurs fans I was disgusted when Daniel Levy applied for the furlough scheme that was a diabolical liberty and plain wrong, and I criticise the club every year when it is season ticket renewal time, Levy absolutely takes the piss out of our fans he has yet again put our season tickets up again this year despite Spurs having by far the most expensive season tickets in world football.

He does so safe in the knowledge that if some of our fans don’t renew their are thousands waiting in the wings to take their places.

Bank of England in multi-million pound loan shocker. Thinking about it for a while, it is actually extremely shocking that a bank will lend a football club £150m.

Cant fault Spurs if they have found a way to lower their expenses then good on them, thats why you have a specialists in your organisation.

Tottingham Hotspurs are clearly the new club of the Establishment.

First the loan of Wembley to play home games while they had the builders in. And now a loan from the Bank of England.
