Mine are down to one too , not cats though.... Filthy magpies21 Starling feeding on my lawn yesterday, then 7 Goldfinches came down and started on the seedheads of the dandylions. It pays to not keep your garden too tidy. The resident Blackbirds only have one chick to feed, cats probably got the other fledglings.
Yes. A balance of nature needs to be restored. Reds gave co existed with pine martens but greys have less defences. No idea if they can be effectively introduced into areas.Pine Martens are whats needed to sort Grey Squirrals out

I've not seen any yet. There is a farm I cycle past on my way to work and that is usually where I spot them. My Strava always has comments saying when the first swallows are seen. I'm not cycling at the minute so I'll miss that this year.Saw my first Swallows today, and the bluebells are fantastic.
Any updates

There’s a bloke on YouTube who has a blue tie cam and they laid their first egg on the same day as us and they hatched today.![]()
Whilst heartbreaking, I did chuckle at the thought that a Greenfinch thought "Fuck me its shit being a Greenfinch.... Fuck it" and keeled over.
Never seen a red one in the wild. Apparently they are being very successful in breeding programmes in Scotland, hoping they will spread south.Yes. A balance of nature needs to be restored. saw one in belsay. reintroducing them is fine if the greys can be eliminated naturally.
