Right, since the company is now looking for teams to sponsor I thought I'd bring it up again. Basically, the sponsorship is £300 a year paid in 2 parts - £150 upon the agreement starting and £150 at the end of the season if/when we fulfil the "obligations" of the sponsorship (kind of defeats the point like...). The obligations/requirements are:
1. We need to hold 4 fundraising nights at the club. Basically so we spend money in the bar.
2. We need to host an end of season do at the club.
3. We need to hold a Christmas party at the club.
4. We go pre/post matches.
All these are aimed so the team they sponsor spend more than the sponsorship amount.
The sticking point I would imagine would be point 4 as not everyone lives in Sunderland. However, the way we get around this is by saying we would meet pre/post SAFC home games. Rileys don't sponsor a cricket club anywhere in the country so they will need to learn that our times don't co-incide with the football season (they mainly sponsor footy teams). The boss has said that as long as we hit number 1 in the objectives she will push for them to sponsor us.
I know it sounds like a faff on, but it could be a viable, yearly source of income. And 300 quid pretty much pays for pitch fees for the club for a year.
Let me know the general opinion before I submit the claim.
