Sponsorship for SMB CC and/or HCWCC

Right, since the company is now looking for teams to sponsor I thought I'd bring it up again. Basically, the sponsorship is £300 a year paid in 2 parts - £150 upon the agreement starting and £150 at the end of the season if/when we fulfil the "obligations" of the sponsorship (kind of defeats the point like...). The obligations/requirements are:

1. We need to hold 4 fundraising nights at the club. Basically so we spend money in the bar.
2. We need to host an end of season do at the club.
3. We need to hold a Christmas party at the club.
4. We go pre/post matches.

All these are aimed so the team they sponsor spend more than the sponsorship amount.

The sticking point I would imagine would be point 4 as not everyone lives in Sunderland. However, the way we get around this is by saying we would meet pre/post SAFC home games. Rileys don't sponsor a cricket club anywhere in the country so they will need to learn that our times don't co-incide with the football season (they mainly sponsor footy teams). The boss has said that as long as we hit number 1 in the objectives she will push for them to sponsor us.

I know it sounds like a faff on, but it could be a viable, yearly source of income. And 300 quid pretty much pays for pitch fees for the club for a year.

Let me know the general opinion before I submit the claim.

I wouldnt recommend sponsorship for the smb as well as hcc as that would mean fullfilling 8 fundraising events which is unlikely imo.

Humpty Bumpy with good news.

Sponsorship has been provisionally approved for the 2012 season. However, the following rules apply:

1. We host 3 nights/events a year.
2. We go before and/or after games.

This is standard with all clubs they sponsor whether it's football/rugby/netball etc.

However, I have managed to pursuade them that rather than having a load of lads trail from all over to go out to Houghton (they looked it up after telling them we have players from Peterlee, Seaham, Bishop Auckland and even Houghton they agreed that logistically it wouldn't work) that we come down before and/or after Sunderland games. This would mean that Rileys wouldn't miss out on the income that teams spend on beer after games and that the cricketers wouldn't miss out on the food that's part of the offer!

So, from what I can see, the sticking point is would people be willing to go down Rileys before Sunderland home games?

If people do say yes, then we'd get £150 upon the "contract" being accepted and £150 once we've fulfilled the above obligations.
