I agree to a point, but also those inexperienced kids could have been helped a lot better than they have been. Rotating them in and out, dropping them at the right times, building them up and managing them individually a bit better all would have helped get the best out of them.

Even little things like playing evans left and Neil right would have split up the kids on the pitch and kept some experience around, so you had Neil near Flanagan and evans near Doyle and cirkin, for example, instead of a triangle of Neil, Cirkin and Doyle playing themselves into trouble.

Watching this again and just noticed keane says 'I want to go back into m... as a manager'. Wonder if that's a bit of a hint of one of the issues there
 
Sacking the manager and only then commencing the process to find his successor is being labelled as keeping our integrity, but what it really is, is naivety in the extreme.

Look at WBA for example. Sacked their manager and had Bruce in about 20 minutes later, because they did what every other club in world football does and had their current manager's successor ready to go.

I'm sure having our "integrity" will go down well with our fans during the playoffs, or make us feel better about getting pumped by bottom of League One Doncaster FFS.

Then you have the owner liking posts about Keane getting the job earlier in the week, which automatically means if for any reason he doesn't take the job, they have whoever the next manager is pissing against the wind from day one.

I like a lot of what the decision-makers have done, but their handling of this whole episode has been shambolic.

I'd argue its too late already. Sack Johnson at this stage of the season. Fine, but replace him immediately.

I think the keane/defoe stuff may be a complete smokescreen.

If we're being honest we're probably looking like we'll end up around 4th/5th this season. Absolutely fuck all improvement where it matters.

Agree. No improvement and alot of turnover and money spent for this level.

No one had said Keano is coming we have all just assumed hoped and wound ourselves up this week over it. Keano on tv last night didn’t help mind.

I still think he will come but I’m so unsure on Speakman and today’s interview was so unnecessary it made a shit day even worse

If he doesn’t then I think Warnocks the only one mentioned who’s bloody minded enough to not be put off by being regarded as an anti climax.
