Have we?
The two best signings were reportedly down to Johnson, Stewart and Pritchard. The rest might have some talent but have largely been pretty average.

The main concern for me is that we have actively gone about lowering the experience level in the squad. Significantly.

Yes, there’s a virtue in signing good young players who can grow with the club, increase in value etc - but this is a tough, streetwise league and you need plenty of nouse, leadership and experience around the place too. It’s looking very naive at the moment to build a team/plan around so many kids. Can anyone honestly say that they’d be confident of many players in this team/squad standing up to the pressure of a huge play off game?

He deserves criticism, without a doubt.

But surely people can see that sacking key figures - whether it be sporting directors, DoF’s or managers - so frequently and after very little time is arguably our biggest problem?

Every time someone gets their feet under the table, as soon as a rough patch hits it gets emotional and we end up tearing up the whole blueprint to start again with someone with vastly different ideas and then it’s another 2-3 year timescale.

We can't even grow grass properly.
The pitch is a disgrace. Non league clubs have way better.

Im sure the groundsman will argue the size of the stands but we have the lights which should negate this.

Not one of our grounds people today took the initiative to pick litter. They are fking useless,

The standadrs we set through out the club are non league standard. People are stealing a living out of this club.

Hopefully when or if Roy Keane comes in they will be raised immediatly.

I’m more sceptical of the role than I am of the individual.

For me, the person who carries the can for the first team’s results - who stands in front of the media and is accountable to the supporters - should have control of first team affairs.

Look at the decision to let Flanagan go on Monday, and not replace him. No manager would ever agree to leave himself with only two fit centre halves. They wouldn’t even contemplate it. However Speakman decided to - as he can, when it’s not him whose head is on the block if things go tits up results-wise.

that’s only the biggest problem if you have the right people. It could be an even bigger problem if you give the the wrong person a long time.

Yes possibly, there’s definitely some balance missing.

Speakman has made a huge error today, however, let's not pile in just yet. We've all been happy with the recruitment in the main and I don't think he's the hirer or firer. He's messed up, move on. No need for all this hate
If he doesn't act quickly, he becomes part of the problem.

He should have had a list of candidates they'd be interested in months before they pulled the trigger.

Setting up 5 or 6 interviews doesn't take a week unless you fanny about.
Saturday - sack LJ,
Sunday review list and contact 6,
Interviews Tuesday/Wednesday,
Review Thursday, Offer Job
Contracts agreed Friday.

And thats working slowly. They're piss poorly organised.

I like the approach he has taken in signing players. Its not been perfect but its so much better than before. Performances on the pitch not just results have gone poor and the next appointment will define our short term plan. I trust the set up even though I was angry with today's performance. A good manager and leader will get these lads firing I have no doubt.

Wonder what will become of the 'plan' if we don't get promoted, the squad gets cherry picked and we have to rebuild from scratch yet again in this shit league. Add into the 'plan' fans' patience becoming very thin. Massive turnout today. The club failed them yet again.

I'm not. Got an unproven goalie. 2 slow cb's. Willis and Arby are a massive drain. We have signed wingers when the spine of the team is weak as shite.

Half the squad aren’t signed up for next season anyway and I reckon a couple of the better ones will be away. Probably Stewart and Neil.

Tell that to Everton or West Brom. Or ManU FFS.

The level of expectation on here is crazy. The real world just doesn't work like that.
Everton and Man United have been shambolically run for years mind so not sure they're the best examples to demonstrate your point and West Brom had Bruce in within 2 days of sacking the previous fella.

The swirling litter was back with a vengeance today. Does my nut in. Get it picked up at half time ffs.

Even during the game you could have staff discreetly picking litter without getting near the playing area when the ball is up the other end

Our caretaker managers could have picked it all up at any point during the match. Closest available people doing nothing

Mate the groundsman and his team can not produce a decent pitch despite all the equipment they have and they obviously think picking litter is below them.

The standards at the club are lower than a snakes belly.

The only hope we have as supporters is Roy comes in and shakes the whole rotten mess up from top to bottom.

People are literally stealing a living from our club.

Nigh on 40,000 there today. The club is a mess apart from the fantastic support.

Bloke next to me in the North stand thought a plastic bag was the ball at one point

West Brom appointed Bruce FFS!!!!!

So point me in the direction of a well-run club who appointed a manager the day after they sacked their previous manager.

Of course we'll ignore the fact that this hypothetical "well-run" club had to sack the manager in the first place.

The thing is we didn’t have a problem with the pitch for years until we were related. We’ve cut costs somewhere and we need to fix it pretty damn quick as it’s embarrassing.

Couldnt agree more, the litter is a small issue but it is symbolic of the club. Was really annoying me today though watching it all swirling around the touchline and pitch.
