Basic, fundamental issues with the playing squad imo. We've weakened what was already the weakest part of the squad- defence. We're still playing a CM at right back, two teenagers in defence who will always be in and out of form and should be on rotation. A midfield that won't function well unless they're playing on a bowling green against players who don't get in their faces. In that January window we signed a couple of what are probably expensive wingers that we arguably didn't need and all.of the new signings are sitting on the bench a week after the worst result and performance in the history of SAFC. Then it's Ross Stewart vs 3 defenders. Oh and a keeper who IMHO is a downgrade on what we had before.
Great post, encapsulates my thoughts entirely. Top heavy in certain areas, short in others.

Just speculating here. I may be wide of the mark....

If Johnson was the hold up with the Defoe deal, and lost his job...

Should Speakman be worried about his job if he is holding up the Keane deal.

It's blatantly obvious that KLD wants Keane. It's not so obvious that Speakman does.

I’d be amazed if Speakman wanted Keane or Keane wanted Speakman. One or the other will have to give sooner or later imo.

Hard to imagine Keane taking orders from this bluffer. Clubs fucked. We seem to have filled the backroom staff with absolute no marks.
Keane didn't like taking orders from the straight talking billionaire who didn't care much about philosophies either. Who will he actually work under?

Speakman's had a complete mare over the past week - if we need to replace him, fine. I wouldn't be doing that yet mind. We certainly shouldn't be scrapping our plan because Roy bloody Keane can't work with anyone above him.

Could he not have took the team today as a one off? Or was he scared of looking out of his depth?
Yeh. How difficult would it be to step in as coach today ? Proving he knows his stuff. Bottled it imo ? Vital 3 points lost . We.are stuffed.

The plan that will see us lucky if we make the play offs, that the plan you're referring to.

I suggested this earlier in the week. The fella is a UEFA Pro qualified coach and ultimately leadership comes from the top. He should have took responsibility.
