transitioning to younger players with likely resale value. We may not be where we want to be, but instead of a squad full of plodders who are mid-to-late 20s on high wages and who've peaked in L1, at least the majority of the squad will be on lower wages with more likelihood of interest/higher value if & when we sell them.
Players who get thumped 6-0 one week then lose to a side that lost 5-0 a few days before aren’t exactly likely to be tearing up the transfer market.

Forgetting who should and shouldnt get the job, which at this stage is blindingly obvious from the names listed.

Isn't having, at any point in time, a number of potential head coaches in mind exactly the sort of thing a 'Director of Football' is meant to be doing? Basically the shortlist is like something Donald and Methven would have put together - a list of names of people who are available because they have been sacked by other clubs in League One or the Championship, plus Roy Keane. And this is the man who thought Lee Johnson would be a good fit here.

Shouldn't he have been finding the next Neil Critchley or Liam Manning? Isn't that his job?

Had all week to get an appointment.

Was it arrogance to play today without a manager as a free hit thinking we would win.

Two years in a row we've sacked a manager and lost to the bottom team. I know LJ was appointed on the day of the game.
Gary Bennett called it before the game, worried we’d get beat. Us oldies have been around long enough to fear an SAFC master class in f@cking things up in front of the biggest crowd of the season.

If it’s the one i watched earlier he made reference to dealing with the potential new guys solicitor.

I imagine most managers have an agent, but I think from memory wasn’t it well known Keane has never had an agent and uses the same solicitor he always has.

I’ve been droning on about this on here for ower 15yrs marra.
Someone who has nowt to do with anyone involved and nivver sets foot in the SOL or AOL should be sitting infront of a screen crunching numbers and win %s and ppg and transfer profits and transfer fees and everything vaguely relevant about every manager, head coach, DOF, academy head, club etc in pro football all ower the world so that at any point in time one button needs to be pressed and we have an instant shortlist for it.
Who dofs the DOF etc?
