Speakman gone


Wow, did not expect that.
We seem to have a lot of change of personal in the board room, as well as the AM position.
 
This paragraph in the Club statement indicates Speakman has been sacked and Speakman’s statement ignoring the ownership reinforces that imo.

“With Premier League status restored and a strengthened football leadership structure in place, the Board of Directors has made the decision to continue the Club’s journey without Kristjaan.”

Bit surprised to see it happen in the middle of the season like this, but maybe they've hit the point where Speakmans responsibilities had been taken over by others sooner than expected and he was left as the odd man out.

Still doesn’t explain the “with immediate effect”
 
The wording of the club statement has caused speculation.

It should have said the decision was by mutual agreement and signed by Speakman.

Even if not true they could have used an old signature and it would have nipped the confusion in the bud.

Yeah, my take from the clubs statement was that this is a dismissal. Intuition is a fall out, and at the end of the day, KLD is the money in the room.

There may have been a dispute that has arisen between Speakman and Ghisolfi over who is in charge of what and KLD has clarified in favour of the man who brought in a decent premier league squad for buttons. Maybe it came to a head and Ghisolfi won the power struggle or maybe Speakman's nose was put out of joint, who knows. I would have been devastated if Ghislfi had left instead of Speakman but good luck to him in his next job as long as it isn't at the Saudis.
