He’s been absolutely fantastic for the club and pivotal to us being promoted to the Premier League. I think every Sunderland fan wishes him all the best and he’ll be remembered fondly.

Our signings this year came primarily from Ghisolfi, think it's fine.

Loved Speakman, did a great job. Obviously easier with one head than two, and Ghisolfi was pretty much brought in to do Speakman's job. It did seem inevitable a few months ago when there was chat of them both doing it.

What he's achieved in terms of his budget has put everyone to shame since probably Peter Reid's early days.

That seems to have come from nowhere.

It did seem when Ghisolfi arrived that there had to be duplication of some aspects of their roles. Speakman has been a big part of getting us back to the Premier League despite most of us being critics of him at some point during his time at SAFC.

What do you mean? Due to the small sample size i.e. 2 only 2 windows?

It was generally thought he was the main one involved in the summer transfers and it is probably the best transfer window we have ever had
