There is zero point in London with all the light pollution

Can anyone recommend some good rigs for stargazing on the go? Now my campervan is a thing it would be great to have a mobile rig for stargazing when out of London.

Just finished watching the last 2 episodes of Solar System, what a fabulous series that was, i like that he used a Dare record
I need to watch that series.

I've got the excellent Out of the Silence on album, I was lucky to see Dare 3 times when they supported Jimmy Page on his Outrider tour in 1988, my only claim to fame is I met the band, including Brian Cox before their show at Manchester appollo. They were kind enough to let is into the arena while they done a soundcheck 🙂

I took the ‘Heeds out to the Chilterns to see the comet a few years ago. Only an hour out of the city and proper dark skies. Saw the comet, ISS, the Galilean moons, loads of satellites & shooting stars. It was fantastic… for me at least. The rest of them just moaned, sat in the car & ate all my choc.

I've just been watching this review of the Apollo 8 mission by the superb Amy Shira-Teitel.

Well worth a watch if you have a spare 50 minutes.
