Space Science and Astronomy thread

Just finished the final episode of the Solar System.

Absolutely brilliant programme. Some incredible facts I never knew about at all.

Haway Coxy lad.

Humans will then be off to destroy another planet.

The amount of time it would take to reach a planet outside our solar system would mean that the people who initially set off would be long dead by the time the spaceship arrived. It's not like Star Trek where they complete the journey while the adverts are on.

Is Time travel into the future not possible?

I'd heard the adverts break time-travel teleporter's development was well in advance, It wasn't Coxy that told me, he said we'd be able to build another planet by that time. Humans will be living a life like in the Jetsons.

None of that makes any sense.
Very little in life progression or reality does, but in x billion years when this planet is no longer suitable for human existence what remains of us needs to find something, somehow, somewhere. And we will.

Rare outing for the Dob tonight. Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon all captured to show the kids. Ideal conditions.

GRS transit and all three Jovian moons all lined up. Amazing.

Saturn not angled too well but Titan was visible right close up
