Southampton spying compendium thread

maybe just me, but I can't help but feel this growing mantra of 'its not fair on Hull as they have not been able to prepare for the opponent they are now facing' is just odd.

Perhaps they could ask Southampton and Will Salt for their notes on how to prepare for the Boro game, now they don't need them ? 😉

Oxford being there is key, they could have tried to say Ipswich and Boro were high stakes games, the fact they spied on Oxford would go against them just doing it on key games.
If you look at it yea...Also the 2 league games Ipswich and Oxford they got 1 point from 6, so it looks like little gain, could that be why they admitted to those 2 league games, but they also beat Wrexham 5-1 when Wrexham were one of their closest rivals..seems a bit convenient

Firmly believe there will be more. Although fair play for the EFL for booting them out fairly quickly, they will be sitting on more evidence that would have made it impossible to get the play off played. Been quite clever in the punishment so far. Oxford won so has no real impact. Ipswich promoted. Booted out because of the Boro match.
Undoubtedly there will be more, look at how they played against Man City in the cup as well. Suspicious as fuck!

Saints fans are “ innocent “ in this too
Only guilty by association
Many of them will have booked flights ect
Imagine if we had our play off game cancelled last year a short time before …
You will have grandads /parents ect looking to build memories ( again look at our win last season ) that has been stopped through no fault of their own

Club owe their fans a massive slice of apology

Will Hayden Hackney now be fit ?
( v good player )
Except the ones who dressed up as hedges for the semi final. They can go fuck themselves.

It wouldn’t concern Hull and Southampton fans though, would it?
Repairs and upgrades are planned well in advance and Network Rail (or whoever is in charge these days) will have had no prior knowledge that Boro would be reinstated.

Is it just for the Saturday or the whole weekend?
If it is the whole weekend, it will affect both Chelsea and the Skunks travelling on the Sunday.

It's right through the weekend, including Monday. I'm travelling up on Friday and not going back till Tuesday.

that's something I was thinking about last night. I assume Southampton fans will just do the standard modern day fan thing of claiming victimhood, point their fingers at the EFL, say its all a disgrace, and be absolutely furious at Middlesbrough for reasons they can't even explain.

The reality is that they should be livid with their own club. The only people to have screwed over Southampton fans are Southampton.

Going to guess the expulsion will remain but the points deduction will be reduced or removed.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see them hit with more points to be honest mate

Does anyone believe they “only” spied on Oxford (lost & relegated) and Ipswich (drew & promoted). Didn’t win either and both teams now out of the championship and not impacted by the points.

I’m 💯 the FA won’t believe this either. It’s whether they’re able to find further evidence. I’d be surprised if this is over yet and probably not to Southampton gain

We all know now this wasn’t a one off against Boro. And from there it’s simply unbelievable that they randomly chose those two league games, and they didn’t spy on “any” of their wins.

They have admitted to the panel and the EFL, to not just one, but multiple occasions where they have been spying on opponents. It's becoming clear that this has been known of and going on for sometime and not just with the Boro. The EFL obviously have had evidence from months ago but Boro was the final piece they needed. Southampton admitting to the charges changes nothing, in fact I would think the four points deduction is nowhere near enough bearing in mind what Sheff Wednesday and Leicester, to a lesser extent have been deducted points for.. This is blatant cheating out some financial penalty.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve done it every game under the present manager
Will they sack the manager is more to the point?

Will be mocked and hated for years

Club needs to sack manager today

Long way back for them

Harwood Bellis is a tit and he must now feel crap man, for me the club should fine him as well

You have to wonder how many other clubs they did it too.
It also makes you wonder how many other teams have done it

I don’t think they have a choice. They have to be accountable to the fans, who will quite rightly need someone to take responsibility

Because Hull didn't know who they would playing on Saturday. Middlesbrough knew they would be playing Hull if Southampton were booted so they knew who to spy on. Hull didn't have that luxury. ;)
Well, to my mind, if Hull have not been training with the possibility of this outcome and therefore they would be facing Boro, then they have no been forward planning and any disadvantage is down to their own lackadaisical attitude.
