Southampton spying compendium thread

Southampton manager Tonda Eckert admitted he authorised spying on opponents but claimed he didn’t realise it breached English football rules with the practice ‘common’ in Europe. He now fears he could be banned from football by the FA.
Bollocks - does he mean to say that no one at the Club ever said to him . .. "Boss we can't actually do that because it's against the rules over here." or was the rest of the staff who must have known about it just as ignorant as he was of the FL's rules.

It also suggest that he's spied on a larger number of opponents than they have admitted to because he's done so as a matter of routine.

At their "appeal" I would tell them that the FL is going to continue the investigation unless they come clean on everything,

This morning I did something I have never ever done before- look at an another club’s fans forum:

On their spygate thread there was around 160 pages- the first 138 are general hilarity at the absurdness of the charges and laughing at Boro. The last post prior to the decision being made was “the amount of time this is taking clearly shows no serious action is going to be taken” 😂

Worth a read. Goes without saying the general mood on there has changed somewhat.

Cheating bottom line.
This will stick with them forever as a club,
a bit like the sports washed clubs will never lose that reputation.
Man City won 20 odd trophies but deep down we all know having the massive amount of money advantage it was a form of cheating how they did it.

Seems strange that they only done it 3 times unless these were the only training grounds where they thought they could get access to without being seen.
They’ll have been doing it since the manager took over. These are the 3 with evidence that they’ve admitted to

Find it hard to believe they’ll be the only times it happened

Another way to view it. If they’re doing it for managerless Oxford away, they’re likely doing it for a few other games as well

Got no sympathy for them at all.
Hope their manager gets peddled.
Unfortunately I think if Boro go up it’ll always be tainted (not their fault), so best result would be for Hull to win it now (will make the Southampton v Boro games a bit tasty next season at least)
Like we've always been tainted by the Swindon affair? 🤔
What a wanker.
🤣🤣

Paul B seems to be going through some of the many stages of grief like 🤣

“We've been caught "shoplifting" but been given a death sentence. That is in no way the right punishment.

A lot of people on here seem to be ignoring the fact that we are clearly not the only club to have done this. It is rife. No doubt those Boro c***s have been doing it themselves! I'm not saying it makes it ok to do it, but we are by no means any more of a 'disgrace', 'shambles', 'embarassment' than anyone else! We just fucked up by getting caught”
