Are you the lad behind the tree?Southampton expelled
Next level arrogance from their fans like. No sympathy at all.Correct decision on the basis boro aren’t the only victims (interested to see which other ones are. Last I hear was canaries, Bristol city and Millwall). I imagine their manager is going to probably cop a ban or punishment for this as well. Imagine how the fans must feel? Arrogance to being blown out of the water

After what Southampton has done to the FL showcase tournament ? Putting holding the final in jeopardy at the possible cost of millions ? Messing around all those fans and making the biggest talking point around the game their disqualification? It's a can of worms if there are any other proven cases. I suspect the EFL will be happy not to investigate it any further.
Good pointsAdmitting to cheating against a team well relegated and one promoted which wouldn't be arsed anyway.
What a horrible little club Southampton are![]()
I know the intern has done this but I hope he doesn’t personally take this flack as clearly been told to so needs protecting career wise surely
I feel sorry for all sets of fans with ticketing/accomadation issues, its stressful enough at best of times with wembley tickets. Surely 2nd leg could have been delayed a few days to allow the evidence to be presented and award the tie to boro before that game was played. It looks like they hoped boro would do the job and give Efl time to get to their decision without final being affected. From a loyal supporter who has been on the end of a demotion (1990) and kicked out of a cup competition (this season) the pain and suffering for the Supporters is unforgivable.
You put yourself through the emotion, elation and the cost of supporting your team and then bang, it’s all gone.
This decision was inevitable. Different from Leeds, as that was mid season and rules were not in place.
This is a breach of the rules, same with Swindon and the club is accountable and responsible. The EFL had no choice but to impose a disqualification or else a precedent would be set.
Just spare a thought though for those Supporters who are 100% innocent. The pain is unforgettable. Southampton would have been clear favourites and no doubt Boro will be now.

Surely not. They have to make an example out of them so even if they’re saying punishment doesn’t fit the crime they’ve admitted to it, so unsure what they feel a fair punishment for outright cheating would be. Sounds like they’re hoping for a financial slap on the wrist but can’t see it as they need to set the tone for what’s allowed and what’s not to protect the league(s)Imagine they reinstate them man![]()
