I think it was about two weeks after the Wembley game that it was announced that Swindon would be demoted, originally by two divisions but reduced to one on appeal.

Swindon had been gaming the system for several seasons, making illegal payments to players and defrauding the inland revenue.

In comparison to this watching a rivals training session is surely a relatively minor offence.

Nope! I don't want to go to the Prem, I don't care for it. From a club financial and profile level it's the dream, so if they get another chance good for them, but they threw it away with some horrible results at the end of the season. So for me let Spyhampton play the game and I hope Hull stuff them.

Three new developments.
  1. EFL has warned supporters they may have to change their plans for the final.
  2. Boro has brought team back for training session(s).
  3. Hull has decided not to send an intern to watch Boro's training.

Some thoughts about Soton's "lone wolf" excuse. The intern bought coffee at the golf clubhouse which coincidentally is owned by Gibson. They literally have the receipts. EFL will investigate whether the same credit card was used to buy coffee near training grounds and during training times of other EFL clubs.

EFL may be forced to elevate the punishment because of the coverup efforts, not just the original sin.

That’s Southamptons only get out, admit charges but say it was a analyst over stepping his remit without club’s approval, get analyst to admit that with the promise of not sacking him or possible golden handshake
 
Is the meeting that’s convened (for today or tomorrow) a hearing, I.e Southampton’s opportunity to explain their actions, as opposed to a meeting at which any decisions will be made?

If so, I think the reality is that the game is very likely to go ahead with any decision being taken after it, regardless of the result. Just can’t see how Boro get to play a part in this now, football-wise.

I don’t think that would work. He’s employed by them and they are responsible for him. Why would he be spying on Middlesbrough if not for Southampton? If they claim that they should be hit even harder.
