If they would gain nothing or very little from it then why risk doing it? It makes zero sense that if it wouldn't make a difference when the rules clearly state you can be thrown out along with any number of other sanctions to risk doing it

I still think Southampton should do the right thing and withdraw. It'll save loads of hassle, keep it mostly out of the courts, and will give the league the authority to make a quicker decision about the play-off final.

Gibson will probably give it a go if promoted. Probably more so than the other sides. I still think they’d struggle but probably no worse than Burnley have.

Yeah I recall QPR being hit by the EFL with a £42M settlement which included a fine and costs of £20M, and that was knocking on 10 years ago. For breaching FFP rules.
